  There is nothing we did not like on this trip. Would definitely recommend to everyone. Each island has its unique beauty. Waitstaff everywhere all exceptional . There is nothing on this trip I can fault. Just wish it was closer . The tour manager was completely helpful always there for our questions and needs Always pleasant and fun to be with .Show more

  My experience was wonderful! Our tour guide from the mainland (Chuck) was simply outstanding, as were the local guides from Polynesian Adventures. The places we stayed at had to be either 4 or 5 stars each! The only reason I didn't select 5 stars was that we had an enormous amount of rain the first three days in Oahu, which normally doesn't happen in May, and there weren't as many rain out options as perhaps would've been helpful. But Mother Nature has her own mind, so we just went with it! Some of my favorite places to visit were the Iao Valley, which was absolutely breathtaking and the optional trip on the road to Hana. The luau on our last night was so much fun and an absolute treat (great entertainment, plenty of food options, and a gorgeous sunset!). Also very enjoyable were the visit to a coffee farm in Kona and a lunch stop at the gorgeous Maui Tropical Plantation. I would definitely recommend Collette and this tour for someone looking to see Hawaii!Show more

  In my opinion, a first-timer to Oahu should try to visit Waikiki Beach, Iolani Palace, the Bishop Museum, Hanauma Bay...
  In my opinion, a first-timer to Oahu should try to visit Waikiki Beach, Iolani Palace, the Bishop Museum, Hanauma Bay or another good snorkeling spot, and Pearl Harbour. Collette stuck us on a bus for two days and, of those, let us off to see Pearl Harbor--for HOURS. Instead of narration, the rear sound system on the bus emitted extremely loud and literally painful static, both days, and the front and rear passengers were not traded between the two days. Our Collette-arranged Oahu hotel was very distant slog from Waikiki, or any swimmable beach (out at the Ala Moana shopping center). A fellow passenger was diagnosed with COVID, yet a second passenger with a huge wet repeating cough was not removed by Collette nor made to mask for the following days. My friend and I, despite four vaccinations each, unsurprisingly both came down with COVID by the time we reached Maui. The well-known name hotel arranged by Collette on Maui displayed a hall rug always covered in debris, even directly after the maids came, a very worn dirty-appearing room rug that looked like it came from a cheap motel, dirty bathroom glasses that had not been changed out from the prior guests, and thousands of tiny insects that immediately coated any food or drink item placed on any surface until these appeared alive. The most horrible aspect of Collette's service was that they literally starved me: Because I have severe diet restrictions, Collette had assured us when we first made reservations that every effort would be made to accommodate these, and then had asked me to email precisely what these were. I had asked only that steamed rice and steamed veggies could be made available at each of the provided meals. Instead, Collette made NO food available to me for the entire nine-day tour: NO dinner and NO breakfast foods different than those for the other guests were provided to me by Collette. I had only four tablespoons of buckwheat cereal a day which I had brought with me, and, on four occasions, two eggs a day I purchased or arranged for independently with chefs. Our tour manager did personally arrange one partially-filling meal at one restaurant. Since I was counting on some nutrition being provided by Collette, and Collette booked us far from stores where I could find food I was able to eat, I was literally starving during the entire tour. I weighed 136 at tour start and 125 at tour's end. Between the rapid weight loss and the case of COVID, Collette could actually have killed me. I have been home over a week and am only beginning to recover from this awful awful experience. I visited the islands five times previously, both solo and with friends or family, and enjoyed every one of my prior trips. I have stayed solo in Italy, Portugal, Spain, and France for a month each, and spent less than $2,500/month for each, room/board/air incl. I would NEVER recommend a Collette tour to anyone unless: They have the constitution of a horse (so that ailing fellow passengers are of no concern), and they are disinclined to walk anywhere, but content to sit and look out the window.Show more

  Our hotels were just fine until Kona. Sheraton Kona. Awful. Old, dirty, and no comparsion tot eh lovely Hyatt and Marriott we stayed in on the other island. How could Collette ever book this hotel. A fellow travel saw a roach on the wall in the breakfast room near the toaster. Told several staff members who didn't seem to know what to do with this information. A man was at the desk telling the staff about a horrible incident involving his baby. He was so upset, almost in tears. Horrible.Show more
