Rome
Your flight arrives in Rome by noon, and you'll head straight to the hotel to settle in. After dropping your bags, a guided tour takes you through the afternoon to see the Forum, Colosseum, and Pantheon. By evening, you'll gather for a welcome dinner to kick things off.

- Day 2
Rome
You'll spend the day in Vatican City with a guide, walking through St. Peter's Square and the Vatican Museums. The Sistine Chapel's frescoes and sculptures are something you won't want to miss. The afternoon and evening are yours to do what you like, so you can grab lunch, rest, or wander around on your own.

Rome to Sorrento
The drive south takes you along the coast with views of cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples before you reach Sorrento. The town sits on the cliffs with colorful buildings stacked above the harbor. You'll have the afternoon to walk through the narrow streets and just take in the local feel of the place.

- Day 4
Capri - Sorrento
A boat takes you out across bright blue water to Capri, the island where Roman emperors used to hang out. You'll head up to Anacapri in the hills to catch some views, then ride the funicular down to the port to catch your return ferry back to Sorrento.

- Day 5
Pompeii - San Gimignano
This morning you'll tour Pompeii, the ancient city that was buried by lava from Mt. Vesuvius back in AD 79. Later you'll travel north to San Gimignano, and dinner happens at your hotel there.

Florence
San Gimignano's historic streets and medieval towers are yours to explore on foot. After that, you'll head north to Florence where you can spend the evening walking around however you like, checking out neighborhoods and finding a place to eat.

Florence
Florence gets your attention today with a walking tour that includes the Academy of Fine Arts, where you'll see Michelangelo's David sculpture. If you're interested, there's also an option to take a side trip to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Ljubljana - Zagreb
You're heading through Slovenia's capital, Ljubljana, and then on to Zagreb in Croatia. Once there, a guide shows you around to places like the Stone Gate and the Opera House.

You'll arrive in Budapest and board your river ship, which will be your home for the next stretch of this trip. Get settled in, meet the crew, and take some time to get familiar with your ship.

The ship cruises to Vienna, and you'll drive along the Ringstrasse seeing the Vienna State Opera House and Museum of Fine Arts. A walking tour takes you through St. Stephen's Cathedral, Graben, Hofburg Palace, and Albertina. Later you can browse Naschmarkt or catch an optional concert.

Durnstein - Melk
You'll cruise to Durnstein and walk past rustic buildings and taverns while looking up at castle ruins on the hillside, where King Richard the Lionheart was once locked up. Then it's on through Wachau Valley to Melk to tour the abbey. There's also an optional bike route from Durnstein to Melk if that sounds better.

In Rudesheim, ride the Winzerexpress mini-train through town to Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. The ship then cruises through the Rhine Gorge where steep slopes covered in vineyards surround ancient castles. Dinner happens onboard as you sail on into the evening.
