- Day 1
Arrival in Bogota
You'll fly into Bogota and arrive in the evening. Someone from the tour will meet you at the airport and drive you to your hotel, so you can settle in for the night.

Bogota
After grabbing breakfast, you'll spend the day exploring Bogota on a combined bike and walking tour. You'll check out street art and graffiti around the city, then head to the Gold Museum. Later you'll take a cable car up to Monserrate mountain for views across the whole city.

Bogota to Villa de Leyva
You'll drive out to Laguna Guatavita and do a short hike around the glacial lake. From there, it's a drive north to Villa de Leyva, a colonial town where you'll stay the night.

- Day 4
Villa de Leyva to El Cocuy
The morning is free to wander Villa de Leyva on your own. You can photograph the whitewashed houses and decorated balconies at your own pace. In the afternoon, you'll drive north to El Cocuy, a small mountain village in the Sierra Nevada del Cocuy range.

- Day 5
Cerro Mahoma Hike
After breakfast, you'll head out in off-road vehicles to reach a trailhead at 3,800m/12,467ft. From there, you'll hike through paramo grassland and climb to Cerro Mahoma, a peak that gives you 360-degree views of the surrounding Cocuy massif.

- Day 6
Frailejones Valley and Pico Concavo Hike
This is an early start. You'll drive to La Esperanza sector at 3,700m/12,139ft to catch sunrise. The hike takes you through Frailejones Valley with its distinctive plants, past Laguna Grande, and to the edge of the Pico Concavo glacier before heading back down to El Cocuy.

- Day 7
Ritacuba Blanco
Off-road vehicles take you to Los Ritas Cubas sector and the Kanwara mountain hut at 4,000m/13,123ft. You'll hike up to the glacier edge at Ritacuba Blanco (5,000m/16,404ft), with views of the highest peak in the range at 5,410m/17,749ft, then return to El Cocuy.

- Day 8
El Cocuy to Barichara
You'll leave El Cocuy and drive to Barichara, a tranquil colonial village that was named a national cultural heritage site back in 1978. You'll spend the night there.

Barichara
After breakfast, you'll walk the historic Camino Real (the royal road) to Guane, an 18th-century trail. Coming back, you'll ride a traditional chiva bus to Barichara. The afternoon is yours to explore the town and try local food.

Barichara to Santa Marta
You'll drive to a viewpoint overlooking Chicamocha Canyon for dramatic views of the gorge. Then it's off to Bucaramanga airport for a flight to Santa Marta on the Caribbean coast. A short drive takes you to your accommodation.

Santa Marta to Machetepelao - Adams Camp
You'll drive about 3 hours from Santa Marta to the small town of Machetepelao, where your 4-day jungle trek begins. After grabbing lunch, you'll head out on foot toward Adams Camp, which serves as your base camp. The hike takes roughly 3 hours and covers 8km with just 50 meters of elevation gain, so it's a relatively gentle start. You'll walk through the coastal rainforest, spotting exotic plants and animals as the jungle thickens around you. The terrain feels almost untouched in places, and you're getting closer to the lost city with each step.

- Day 12
Adams Camp to Rumualdos Camp
After breakfast you'll head out from Adams Camp toward Rumualdos Camp, which sits at 900 meters altitude. The path takes you through the indigenous village of Mutanyi, where your guide will explain the history and daily routines of the local Tayrona descendants, including the Arhuaco, Kogui, Wiwa and Kakuamo communities. This 8-hour walk covers 15km with 500 meters of elevation gain, so it's a solid day of hiking. You'll break for lunch somewhere along the way, and afterward you can either take a swim in the Buritaca River or sit down with some locally grown coffee while looking out at the mountain views. As the afternoon continues, settlements disappear and wildlife becomes more common.

Rumualdos Camp to Ciudad Perdida
Set out early this morning to catch the sunrise over the lost city ruins. Ciudad Perdida sits between 900 and 1300 meters altitude, hidden in dense jungle, and was built between the 11th and 16th centuries as the heart of the Tairona civilization. You'll hike for about 4 hours, covering 9km with 300 meters of elevation gain and then 900 meters of descent as you approach the site. Walking through the ruins in the morning light gives the whole place a different feeling. You'll spend the night at a basic camp located near the archaeological site.

- Day 14
Ciudad Perdida to Tayrona National Park
The final hiking day involves about 7 hours of trekking and 16km of walking, with 300 meters of elevation gain and 900 meters of descent getting you back to where the trek started. From there, you'll climb into an off-road vehicle for roughly 1 hour and cover 25km heading back down to the Caribbean coast. After 4 days of hard walking and camping, you'll have earned some relaxation. Your overnight stay is at a lodge in the beautiful Tayrona National Park, where you can unwind and recover from the trek.

- Day 15
Tayrona National Park
You'll do an easy jungle hike through Tayrona National Park to Arrecifes, where you can see white-sand Caribbean beaches. If you want, there's a chance to snorkel at Cabo San Juan del Guia.

Tayrona National Park to Cartagena
You'll travel about 5 hours along the Caribbean coast, covering 270km to reach Cartagena. Start at La Popa monastery where you get sweeping views across the city, then head to Castillo San Felipe de Barajas, the largest Spanish fortress ever built in South America. You can walk through the tunnels and see the statue of Don Blas de Lezo inside. Next, explore the walled city center where you'll come across the Clock Tower and the monument to founder Don Pedro de Heredia. Wander through the narrow streets lined with colorful buildings, stopping at squares, parks and churches along the way. Your guide will share stories about how the city was founded and tales of pirates that sailed these waters. Plan for about 3 hours of walking through the historic areas.

After breakfast, you have the day to explore Cartagena's colonial streets and architecture at your own pace. Later, you'll head to the airport depending on your flight time to start your journey home.
