  I am doing another tour in Italy and will finish in Rome on Sept. 17. This tour begins on the 19th. Would I be able to get the Naples airport pick up if I came on the 17th? Also, would I be able to book a room at the hotel for the 17 and 18th if I arrived early?

    We do not book pre or post tour hotel nights for this trip. You would need to make your own hotel arrangements. We do offer free airport arrival and departure transfers to/from Naples (NAP) airport only for this tour on the start and end date of the tour.

    This trip combines leisurely and moderate - graded walks with an average daily distance of 10 kilometres/6.2 miles. You should be confident of your capability to enjoy the higher graded walks.
    
    Our hotel is 600 metres above the Amalfi coast and much of the walking is along ancient paths and stairways. The sometimes lengthy ascents and descents along these routes - as well as often uneven surfaces - can be tough to navigate and put pressure on the knees.
    
    Expect some rocky and slippery surfaces, we'll be walking on all kinds of terrain from well - worn stone steps to rugged old mule trails.
    
    We recommend walking poles to help with the more challenging ascents and descents.

    Our base for the week is Hotel Risorgimento, a traditional, family-run, three-star hotel just a few minutes' walk from San Lazzaro's main square. The historic property was built in 1878 and has been in the hands of the Avitabile family ever since, with brothers Nicola and Mimo at the helm today.
    
    Each of the 23 en-suite rooms are elegantly furnished and have views towards the distant sea or the Lattari Mountains. During the hotter weather fans are provided in the rooms, due to the historic nature of the property the owners are unable to install air conditioning. The hotel also has a restaurant that serves up an array of Italian dishes made using local produce including pizza made in the traditional pizza oven. After a long day of walking, relax on the panoramic terrace with sea and mountain views or the bar, which has a good selection of Italian wines to choose from.

    Day 3: 4.5KM
    Day 4: 10KM
    Day 5: 10KM
    Day 7: 11KM
    
    This trip includes 2 leisurely and 3 moderate graded hikes as detailed in the daily itinerary, and you can expect to be outdoors hiking for 3 to 5 hours on each walking day. While the walks don't cover a particularly long distance, they can feel more challenging at times as we navigate mountain paths and old stairways that have been used for years to link the villages of the region. 3 of the walks involve quite lengthy descents on stone stairways and in some places, the terrain is rough, uneven and stony underfoot. Fit hikers will find the walks a satisfying day out, while less-fit hikers will find them challenging but manageable. This trip is appropriate for seasoned and first-time hikers who enjoy walking and have good balance. It is not suitable for those with recurring hip or knee problems or those unstable on their feet.
    
    Hiking shoes are recommended. Although not essential, you may like to bring hiking poles to take the pressure off your knees when descending.

  Is it possible to arrive a day earlier at the accommodation before the start of the walking tour with arranged airport transfer?

    It is possible, however I probably wouldn't suggest it. Naples is where the tour begins as we have two available transfers on Day 1 of the tour, from Naples Airport up to the town of San Lazzaro - it's about a 1.5 hour journey. A lot of people will either stay in Rome (or maybe Naples) before the tour, catch a train/bus to Naples Airport and pick up our complimentary transfers on Day 1 (1pm or 7pm only).

    If we were to select an aircraft departure from Naples airport at 0950am, would a 10 minutes earlier departure be an issue?

    I do believe that having that flight just 10 minutes earlier to the 10am cut off will be fine. As long as you can check in online for your onward flight, beforehand. However, of course if there are any changes to the flight, or any unexpected delays along the journey causing a missed flight- we cannot guarantee or cover that missed flight.
