Helicopter evacuation from K2 is expensive: K2 Base Camp → Skardu: typically USD 15,000–30,000+ If multiple patients share the same helicopter, the cost may be divided among them. Medical treatment and onward evacuation to Islamabad are additional expenses. Most expedition operators strongly recommend insurance with at least USD 100,000 in emergency evacuation coverage.
