Itinerary
- Day 1
Delhi
You'll arrive in Delhi and head to your hotel for mid-afternoon check-in. After settling in and freshening up, the rest of the day is yours to relax and get oriented to the city.
- Day 2
Delhi
Start with an orientation tour covering the Red Fort, India Gate, and Presidential Palace. From there, you'll visit Jama Masjid and Humayun's Tomb, then take a rickshaw through the crowded Chandni Chowk bazaar. Grab lunch at a local restaurant, then have free time to wander around on your own. Tonight your tour director hosts a welcome dinner with a cooking demonstration and talk on Indian cuisine led by a local chef.

Delhi to Agra
This morning, see Qutub Minar, a 11th-century brick minaret rising 238 feet high. Next, check out Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Delhi's largest Sikh temple with white marble and a gold dome. After lunch, you'll drive toward Agra and settle in for the evening.

- Day 4
Agra
Rise early for a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, the white marble monument built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial to his wife. You'll take a guided tour inside the mausoleum and have time to explore on your own. Later, travel to Agra Fort, a UNESCO site built by Emperor Akbar. This red sandstone fortress contains the imperial palaces and structures from the Mughal era.

Agra to Sawai Madhopur
Stop at Fatehpur Sikri, the 16th-century former capital of the Mughal Empire built by Emperor Akbar and abandoned after 10 years due to water shortages. After lunch in Bharatpur, you'll board a train headed to Sawai Madhopur, the gateway to Ranthambore National Park where Bengal tigers roam.

- Day 6
Sawai Madhopur
Spend the day on game drives through Ranthambore National Park in open-air safari vehicles. You'll have morning and afternoon drives with free time to rest between them. The park is home to Bengal tigers, leopards, sambar deer, sloth bears, marsh crocodiles, and striped hyenas.

Sawai Madhopur to Jaipur
Travel to Jaipur, the Pink City painted that color in 1876 to welcome the Prince of Wales. Visit Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO site featuring 19 astronomical instruments from 1728 used to measure time and dates. Then see the City Palace Museum, once the royal residence, displaying paintings, carpets, weapons, and historical costumes.

- Day 8
Jaipur
Explore Amber Fort in the morning, known as the Sleeping Beauty of Rajasthan. Built from white marble and red sandstone, it has a plain exterior but inside features royal apartments, an alabaster Hall of Victory, and a Mirror Chamber. Later, visit Ladli, a vocational program teaching orphaned children skills. This evening you'll enjoy a home-hosted dinner with an Indian noble family and learn how to tie a sari and turban.

Jaipur to Kathmandu
Fly from Delhi to Kathmandu, Nepal's capital. You'll be met by a Globus representative when you arrive. Note that your tour director doesn't accompany you on this extension, and a local guide will handle the sightseeing.

Kathmandu
Your local guide takes you on a morning sightseeing tour starting at Hanuman Dhoka, the historic seat of royalty. Then visit the Temple of Kumari, the residence of the Living Goddess, said to be built from a single tree's wood with a 4-pillar hall producing sounds from string and percussion. The afternoon is free to explore at your own pace.

Kathmandu to Patan
Travel with your local guide to Bouddhanath, one of the world's largest stupas and a focal point of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. Continue on to Patan, formerly called Lalitpur or City of Beauty. Stop at Durbar Square, the commercial heart of the city, where you'll see several Buddhist and Hindu temples.
