Dear Ellen, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and candid review! We are thrilled to hear that we managed to win over someone who typically isn't a fan of group tours—that is truly the best compliment we could receive. It is wonderful to know that Kentaro made such a positive impact on your journey. We take great pride in our guides' ability to balance deep historical insights with a fun, engaging atmosphere, and I will be sure to pass your kind words along to him and our driver. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the logistics; navigating the bustle of Tokyo requires a high level of coordination, and I'm glad our team kept things seamless for you. We also sincerely appreciate your constructive feedback regarding the hotels and breakfast variety: • Accommodations: We strive for consistency across all our selections, and we will certainly review the specific properties you mentioned to ensure they meet our standards for future guests. • Pacing: Japan has so much to offer that it can be a challenge to see it all, but we hear you on wanting more time at those special locations. We’re glad the tour served as a great introduction and helped you build your "must-visit" list for the next trip! Thank you for choosing us for your Japanese adventure. We would love to welcome you back whenever you're ready to explore that list of yours!

Dear Linda, Thank you again for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the insights from our guide and the service from our driver. Regarding the accommodations, we take our "3-star" commitment very seriously. To help us address this with our local partners, could you please specify which two hotels did not meet your expectations? We would like to investigate these properties immediately to ensure they align with the quality we promise our travelers. We also appreciate your notes on the breakfast balance and will certainly consider this for our future itinerary planning. Best regards, Peter

Dear Doris, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your honest feedback. We are glad to hear that the group size worked well for you, but we truly appreciate your candid insights on the pace and balance of the itinerary. We take your suggestions seriously, as we are always looking for ways to refine our tours. The idea of trading a few temple visits for a more immersive food experience is fantastic, and we understand how an extra day at Mount Fuji would allow for a more relaxed, meaningful connection with the landscape. Your comments regarding the "rushed" feel of the schedule will be shared with our product team to help us better balance future departures. We hope to have the chance to host you again on a journey that feels a bit more your speed!

      TravelerWritten April 2026

My 5yr old will eat cooked tuna/cucumber or Katsu/cucumber "western" sushi (i am sure she would eat onigiri if it has similar fillings), but is otherwise quite unadventurous with food. She does love fruit, and will at least eat sandwiches for lunch, is that easily available?

    • C

      Chloe

      TravelerWritten April 2026

I get migraines from soy and tofu, is it easy to get foods that dont have those in them? Or request those things to be left out of food?

    • Stunning ToursOperatorWritten April 2026

Yes, Western food options are generally easy to find in the areas where tours typically stay (cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, etc.).

Family restaurant chains like Jonathan's, Gusto, Denny's (Japan), and Royal Host serve hamburgers, pasta, sandwiches, salads, and breakfast-style items.

Cafés (e.g., Doutor, Excelsior, Tully's, Starbucks) offer sandwiches, pastries, and sometimes fruit cups.

Convenience stores (7-Eleven, Lawson, FamilyMart) have sandwiches, onigiri, boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, and pancakes — very easy for a quick lunch.

    • Stunning ToursOperatorWritten April 2026

Sandwiches are widely available (egg salad, ham & cheese, tuna salad).

Onigiri with tuna + mayonnaise or salmon are mild and usually well-liked. Cucumber fillings are less common but can be found in some sushi rolls.

Fruit is available but can be expensive. Convenience stores sell bananas, apples, oranges, and fruit cups. Supermarkets have more variety (grapes, strawberries, melons in season).

For dinner, family restaurants and many izakayas (casual pubs) offer plain rice, grilled chicken skewers (without sauce), French fries, omelets/egg dishes, or even pizza and pasta.

    • Stunning ToursOperatorWritten April 2026

Soy (in the form of soy sauce, miso, tofu, edamame, and many processed foods) is very common in Japanese cuisine. Many restaurants will not be able to remove soy sauce from a dish (it's often premixed), but you can choose dishes that naturally contain little or no soy, such as: Grilled fish (salt-only), Plain rice, Vegetable or meat skewers with salt (shio) instead of sauce (tare), Salads with oil & vinegar (ask for no dressing, as dressings often contain soy), Tempura (the batter has no soy, but dipping sauce contains soy — ask for salt instead), Steamed vegetables. Convenience stores: plain rice balls (no filling), boiled eggs, salted salmon, fresh fruit, packaged salads (check ingredients — many dressings contain soy).
