What are the name of the hotel accommodations used for this tour? We are two elderly people who need elevators and some other amenities, thus I need to know the exact name of the hotels.

Unfortunately we have a maximum age limit of 45 years old on all of our tours as we are a youth operator, designed for first-time travellers.

I am booking the Legend of Japan tour for my parents and their friends. We already booked the trip for 2 out of 3 couples, but when I tried to book it for the last couple it says there is no availability! They have been planning for this trip for a long time and it means a world to them if they can travel together. Can you please let us know if there's a way we can book this trip for them as soon as we can.

Because our transport and activities in Japan have strict capacity limits, we unfortunately can't squeeze in two extra people. We want to make sure everyone has a comfortable and high-quality experience! However, we do have plenty of space on the 12th of March departure. If the group is able to move to that date, all three couples could travel together easily!

In regards to the accommodation types, this will be a mix of: 11 Nights Accommodation, Mixed gender dorms and twin share rooms, 1x Koyasan Temple Stay.

We have 6 people currently booked on to this departure. Of the 6, 2 are male and 4 are female. Ages range from 24 - 35, and nationalities are mostly British except for 1 person from Kenya and 1 person from Ireland.

I am interested in the Legend of Japan trip. I was wondering if what type of accommodations will be available? I prefer hotels but if the only options are hostels would there be an option for a private room?

The accommodations we use for this trip are hostels with dorm rooms, yes. The accommodation on this trip is all shared dorms (with your group only), except for at Koyasan where you'll stay in a traditional temple. The rooms there can accommodate up to 4 people. Due to the rooms we have allocated to us by our suppliers, we do not have the option to upgrade to My Own Room for this trip.

Are the stays hostel style? Assuming no private bathrooms?

The two hostels we stay at on this trip will have shared bathroom facilities.

Can we modify our travel arrangements after booking?

Excellent tour! I had such a great time with TruTravels. Our tourguide Marion and Claire were such sweethearts and gave a lot of tips and advice and a lot of history information. My group also so cool and we had so much fun for 12 days, time was flying so fast! This tour is great to discover the most popular places in Japan in a short time. I had no problems to travel with my group (with my luggage) and we did some additional activities like Teamlabs, Harry Potter Café, Nara Park, etc. I recommend apps like DeepL or Klook and also to buy a sim card beforehand as tourist sim card can be expensive in Japan (or maybe use eSim). The accommodation were also okayish, Tokyo and Osaka were a bit tight but the quality was good for the money. The activities like sushi workshop, kendo, tea ceremony, etc. were such amazing things and brought me closer to the culture. Overall I would book again with TruTravels, everything was great and amazing for my first time in Japan! 🥰💕Show more

She made sure the whole trip ran smoothly, and kept looking after everyone. Giving recommendations, and helping out when people weren't up to the amount of walking needed for this trip. It was a once in a lifetime experience. And because of trip, I've fallen in love with Japan even more than I did before! Words really can't sum up how great Hikari has been on this tour. If you are going to have a tour guide, then pray that it's a tour guide half as good as Hikari, and you'll have an amazing time. Hikari also controlled the weather to make sure we had a view of Mt Fuji.Show more

Morgan was personable, always open, approachable and Patient! Looking back I’m thankful for him just being himself as his passion for Japan came through everyday for us all to enjoy. I’m honestly left wondering if I’ll ever better the experience. His mix of Japanese and British heritage and culture puts you at ease the whole trip as you can relax as he leads you all the way. If all trutravel experiences were led by someone like Morgan I would always sign up again and again!
