Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu
You'll arrive in Kathmandu where a representative meets you and drives to your hotel. After you settle in, head to the tour office to meet your guide and go over the itinerary together. Your guide handles all the permit arrangements, so that's one less thing to worry about. The rest of the evening is yours to walk around the city and get oriented on your own.

- Day 2
Kathmandu Sightseeing
Breakfast at your hotel comes with mountain views, then you're off on a guided city tour. You'll climb 365 stone steps up to Swayambhunath and get 360-degree views from the top, then head to Kathmandu Durbar Square to see the cultural monuments and ancient palace. After that, you'll tour Pashupatinath Temple before finishing at Boudhanath, where the large spherical stupa sits surrounded by Tibetan shops and restaurants. You stay in Kathmandu for the night.

Rafting and Drive to Pokhara
An early drive takes you to Charaudi to start your white-water rafting on the Trishuli River. The 3-4 hour rafting trip includes various rapids like Ladies Delights, Surprise, Upset, Monsoon, Twin Rock, Butterfly, and Monkey (Grade 4 rapids show up during monsoon season). Once you finish, it's a drive to Pokhara where you'll see Annapurna I and Machhapuchhre mountains come into view.

- Day 4
Hiking to Australian Base Camp
After breakfast, a jeep takes you about 1.5 hours to Kande where your trek begins. You'll hike uphill through Gurung settlements and forested areas, passing through villages on the way to Australian Base Camp. Located between Dhampus and Landruk, the camp gives you panoramic views of the Annapurna Valley and close-up views of Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiri, and Himalchuli. You'll sleep in a comfortable teahouse.

- Day 5
Trek to Dhampus and Return to Pokhara
Breakfast at the teahouse includes mountain views, then you trek downhill retracing your route toward Dhampus Phedi. You'll explore Dhampus, a popular village with green fields and houses where Gurung and Magar tribes live. From there, a jeep takes you back to Pokhara for a quick sightseeing tour hitting Davis Fall, Gupteshwor Cave, and Tal Barahi Temple. You finish with a boat ride on Phewa Lake before staying overnight in Pokhara.

- Day 6
Drive to Chitwan National Park
You drive from Pokhara to Chitwan in the southern region, known for warm weather, tropical forests, and wildlife. Once there, you'll visit an ethnic Tharu village and the nearby Elephant Breeding Center. Then it's on to Chitwan National Park (established 1973, UNESCO site since 1984). The day wraps up with local food and a cultural dance performance. You stay overnight in Chitwan.

- Day 7
Jungle Safari and River Boating in Chitwan
An early start gets you on a jungle safari riding an Asiatic elephant for 2-3 hours through tropical forest. You might see striped hyenas, Bengal foxes, Gharial and mugger crocodiles, Sambar and Hog deer, Rhesus monkeys, and the Great One-horned Rhino. After the safari, you tour the nearby Tharu village, then enjoy an evening canoe ride down the Rapti River. Another night in Chitwan follows.

Chitwan to Kathmandu
You have an optional short birding session in Chitwan, then breakfast before a jeep ride back to Kathmandu (about 5 hours). During the drive, you'll see forested hills, the large Rapti and Trishuli Rivers, and nice towns. There's time to shop for souvenirs in Sauraha before you head out. Once you reach Kathmandu, check into your hotel and enjoy a farewell dinner at a fine Nepali restaurant in the evening.
