The actual archaeological sites and the tour leader were great. However, the attitude of the staff at the Hotels we stayed in and the evening meals at the hotel were abysmal. Service was extremely slow and unhelpful, with a seemingly just enough is good enough attitude. My friend and I had booked twin beds but ended up with a double, despite the tour leader calling ahead and trying to arrange. it was annoying to have to pay each day for the tickets needed, perhaps it would have been better to pre-pay. Tour members came and went, with different booking arrangements it was hard for the tour leader to keep track. On the last day there were 45 people!! The 'whispers' (audio device) was not always working so at times we just had to be close to the tour guides.Show more

  We do have time for an 8 day tour if we can start on the 10th, however we do understand the tours are set dates. However, I notice your tours are running continuous each week, is it possible that we could join the tour group, travelling from the 5th to the 12th, on their 7th day? This would be on the 11th June, and would be for the one day only. We could then start the new tour on the 12th and drop off after day 5 in Palermo, we would just miss out on day 6 en route back to Catania.

  We don't recommend joining a tour partway through or combining portions of different departures, as the arrangements can become quite complicated. These are escorted group tours, so they operate on set dates with a fixed itinerary. We can also arrange pre- and post-tour accommodation if you'd like to spend extra time in Sicily. If the scheduled tours don't work with your travel dates, we also offer an independent/private Sicily itinerary, which gives you the flexibility to choose a start date that suits your schedule.

  I was referring to Day 7 of the ongoing 8 day tour, it we could do that before joining our own 8 day tour starting on the 12th June, this would help alleviate the problem.

If you're planning to arrive in Catania a few days earlier, we'd be happy to arrange pre-tour hotel nights for you in Catania.
