Our thought was the following: 3 April: Travel to Kairouan 4 April: Visit Kairouan, El Djem, and Sousse Since our return flight on 6 April is around 11:00 in the morning, we would also like to explore options for 5 April. Perhaps we could add another destination or tailor the program slightly to make the most of the time available.

For your day on 5 April, we would like to recommend an excursion to Dougga, one of the best-preserved Roman sites in North Africa and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering a truly unique historical experience and an excellent addition to your journey. The hotels proposed are not adequate for us. Please replace hotels Meradi Hammamet and Mouradu Palace Sousse with Iberostar Selection Diar El Andalous for Sousse and either La Badira Hotel or another Iberostar for Hammamet. Transportation must be a van for our group of 4 plus the driver and the tour guide. Nobody else. The food provided must be of a decent quality level (similar to the hotels).

The dates are fixed dates for small group tours. Dates can be changed only to private tour with a private tour rate which is significantly higher. From Sousse and Hammamet we have day trips to El Jem. From Tunis it would be only possible as private tour.

From start to finish, this tour was excellent! Three days was a perfect amount of time to accomplish the itinerary and it felt like we hit all the cultural/historical highlights of Tunisia. My friend and I were the only people on the tour. The tour coordinator, Ekbel, was very helpful in confirming our planned flights would fit with the tour itinerary. She was also quick to reply to any questions and professional throughout. Our guide, Aswan, was knowledgeable and presented Tunisia's history in an easy-to-understand manner. He also answered our varied questions. He's a walking Tunisian almanac. :) Ayash, our driver, made us feel safe while traveling and was very personable. Along with Aswan, he was able to share humorous and wonderful insights about this beautiful country. Our trip was wonderful and memorable. This tour was fantastic! My guide Anuar gave me such great information about the beautiful country Tunisia and I felt very safe with him and the driver. It turned out I was by myself for the tour so it was a private journey which made it feel very special because I could go at my own pace. The itinerary is lovely and covers all the basics you'd want to see for a short visit to Tunisia. Communication with the tour company could've been a bit quicker, but other than that, I have no complaints. If you only have a short time to visit Tunisia, this is a great taste test of the country. My favorite part was visiting the blue and white town of Sidi Boy Said.Show more

  I've done some research and came up with the following idea and wanted to check if you could help arrange this or suggest any improvements.
  
  Proposed itinerary:
  
  Day 1: Tunis → Zaghouan → Dougga → Kairouan (overnight in Kairouan)
  Day 2: Kairouan → El Djem → Sousse (overnight in Sousse)
  Day 3: Sousse → Monastir → Sidi Bou Said → Tunis
  
  The idea is to avoid returning to Tunis and on the other hand, the desert and a visit to Douz seems a bit too far for a short trip. I would also enjoy including some nature or scenic countryside stops if possible, but without very long drives.
  
  Could you please let me know:

  Whether you would recommend any adjustments

  Overall, the program looks good in terms of destinations and visits. However, this is not within our budget so I think we need to look for an alternative itinerary. Perhaps you can tell me what the price would be if we only have the transport and visits, we can fix hotels/accomodation ourselves and also look for our own choices when it comes to restaurants for lunch, dinnner etc.
