What is the day for us to arrive in Iceland (Keflavik International Airport) to join the tour? If we are required to come to Iceland a day before the tour starts which area will be best for us to meet and join the tour on Day 1? We would be happy if you could recommend a hotel for the purpose.

We always suggest that you arrive and depart Reykjavik a day before and after the trip. This way you won't have to worry about missing the tour of your flight. Our minibus tours start and end in Reykjavik. Pick up starts at 8am. If you need to book a hotel in Reykjavik for your first night before the tour starts, we recommend Storm Hotel, Fosshótel Reykjavik, Reykjavik Lights, Hilton Reykjavik Nordica, Grand Hotel Reykjavik, or Oddsson Hotel, as they have a direct pick-up at the entrance. If you choose a hotel in the city center, we will pick you up from the nearest bus stop due to road regulations there, it is usually a very short walk, you can check all the bus stops here.

      TravelerWritten June 2026

Is it possible for three persons in a room at hotels during the trip or there is another arrangement? Day 2 or the like: is there going to be involved long walking hours, what is the maximum time of walking to be expected? Day 4 option for horse riding and the price? Day 4 if the option of horse riding is not preferred what are the activity available during the time? Is there a need to prepare food/snacks during the trip? What is the lunch & dinner arrangement available? Is there a need to have cash for lunch/dinner or a credit card/debit card is alright? What is the estimated price for lunch/dinner per person during the trip? Is there any recommendation how much cash need to be carried per person during the tour? If the tour cannot be proceeded on the intended day what is the refund policy?

    • Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten June 2026

We can arrange a triple room for your group, which would typically consist of three single beds in one room. The tour does not involve any long hikes. Most sightseeing stops require only short walks, and the walking time is generally between a few minutes and around 30–45 minutes at a time, depending on the location. Horse riding is available as an optional activity. If you decide not to participate, you are welcome to relax, explore the area, and take photos while the activity is taking place. During the journey, we regularly stop at gas stations and service areas where you can purchase snacks, sandwiches, drinks, and other refreshments. Lunch stops are made at locations offering warm meal options. For dinner, some hotels do not have an in-house restaurant, but your guide will assist you in finding nearby restaurants, delis, or service stations where food can be purchased. Vegetarian and vegan options are commonly available throughout Iceland. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted across Iceland, and most travelers use cards for all purchases. Bringing a small amount of cash is optional but not necessary. Regarding your departure on 21 August 2026, all of our scheduled departures are guaranteed to operate regardless of the number of participants booked. In the unlikely event that the operator must cancel a tour, guests would be offered alternative arrangements or a refund in accordance with our booking terms and conditions.

What will be the difference to the tour price if two of us would share a room and the third person would share a single room?

    • Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten June 2026

Yes, if 1 person from your group wants to stay in a separate room, you will need to pay for the single supplement fee amounting to $629 USD.

    • S

      Simon

      TravelerWritten June 2026

We would like to know whether the payment for 20% of the price as deposit is applicable in our case? Is the $50 credits will be applied and a deduction of the total tour fees. Besides payment by credit card is it possible for us to transfers the payments directly to your company bank account as we have an account in US currency?

    • Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten June 2026

Regarding the deposit, yes, a 20% deposit is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due closer to your departure date. Regarding the $50 travel credit, this is a sign-up credit available to new TourRadar accounts and would be applied automatically at checkout. Regarding bank transfer, unfortunately we are not able to accept direct bank transfers as a payment method. Bookings on TourRadar are processed via credit or debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay depending on your region. You are welcome to use a US-dollar denominated credit or debit card to complete your payment.

What is the average cost for lunch and dinner, particularly since we are vegetarian?

    • Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten March 2026

Since clients need to book a hotel in Reykjavik for their first night before the tour starts, we recommend Storm Hotel, Fosshótel Reykjavik, Reykjavik Lights, Hilton Reykjavik Nordica, Grand Hotel Reykjavik, or Oddsson Hotel, as they have a direct pick-up at the entrance.

If they choose a hotel in the city center, we will pick you up from the nearest bus stop due to road regulations there, it is usually a very short walk, you can check all the bus stops here:

Reykjavik City bus pick-up and drop-off places (busstop.is)

For the meal, while on the way, we usually stop at locations like gas stations: there are small shops there where they will be able to buy snacks/sandwiches and drinks.
At lunch time we will also stop at locations where they will find warm lunch options.
For dinner, all hotels have restaurants, so you can choose if they would like to have dinner there :)

In Iceland some sort of vegan or vegetarian options are offered almost everywhere, in case needed. We can leave notes on their booking and they can also remiond the guides for any suggestions.

Is there a limit to the luggage size that we can bring on this 8-day tour?

    • Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten March 2026

Each person is allowed to bring one suitcase up to 24 inches. You can also bring a small backpack on the bus, and it should fit under the seat or in the upper compartment. We only run minivans, so we don't have enough space in the trunk; of course, we are not measuring luggage as at the airport, but we need to set a limit :) All extra luggage must be stored in our office; there is a fee you must purchase in advance in case you need to do so. In case we have space in the trunk, we will bring the luggage along with us (you still need to buy the extra luggage fee if your luggage exceeds the limit); if not, then we will leave it here at the office :) The guide will pick you up at your designated pick-up location when the tour starts and help you bring it to the office. Once you come back from the tour, we will drive you here to pick up the suitcase and then drop you off at your location in Reykjavik. For tours that last 4 days or less, it costs 1750isk. For longer trips (5/6/8 Days), it costs 3000isk for the total duration of the trip.

    • R

      Raymond

      TravelerWritten March 2026

Would you please clarify what is meant by 24 inches for the allowable suitcase size. Is that the total dimension (L, W, H) or length of the suitcase?

    • R

      Raymond

      TravelerWritten March 2026

Can the pickup/dropoff location in Reykjavik be anywhere in Reykjavik or does it have to be in the city center?

    • Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten March 2026

The 24-inch allowable suitcase limit refers to its height. Wheels is not included in the measurement.

    • Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten March 2026

We recommend booking a hotel in the city center to make pick-up and drop-off more convenient for you.

If you need to book a hotel in Reykjavik for your first night before the tour starts, we recommend Storm Hotel, Fosshotel Reykjavik, Reykjavik Lights, Hilton Reykjavik Nordica, Grand Hotel Reykjavik, or Oddsson Hotel, as they have a direct pick-up at the entrance.

If you choose a hotel in the city center, we will pick you up from the nearest bus stop due to road regulations there, it is usually a very short walk, you can check all the bus stops here:

How do I communicate what hotel for you to pick me up at day 1. Also can I add on Lava caves and VOK baths during the trip or have to decide at time of booking?

    • Troll ExpeditionsOperatorWritten August 2025

Once you will arrive in Reykjavik, you can stay at a hotel of your choice (not included in the tour), and the same goes for the last night after we drop you off. When booking, you'll be able to select your accommodation or the nearest designated bus stop for pick-up on Day 1. As for add-ons like the Lava Cave and Vök Baths, you can add the Lava Cave during the booking process or at least 48 hours before departure so we can make the necessary arrangements.
