  Misleading advertising, poor value for money, and disappointing customer service I booked the “Hawaii – Kauai & Maui Islands Adventure” tour because it was advertised as a small-group experience for solo travellers, but in reality this was not a group tour experience at all. Most of the trip was self-exploration with separately booked activities, and much of the time I was travelling entirely by myself rather than as part of any meaningful group experience. The package cost nearly $5,000, including a $1,000 “solo supplement” which the operator justified by saying hotel rooms cost more for solo travellers. However, hotels generally do not charge more simply because one person stays instead of two, so this felt very misleading and unjustified. The accommodation choices appeared to prioritise the cheapest available options rather than guest comfort or overall experience. The operator stated they booked “garden view” rooms in both Kauai and Maui. In reality, the Kauai room overlooked a parking lot, while the Maui room was directly next to a busy main road in Kihei with significant traffic noise. These were basic working-class hotels, not accommodation that reflects a premium-priced Hawaii experience. Transportation was another major issue. In several cases, transport to activities was my own responsibility. One single transfer to an activity cost around $100 because the hotel was booked far away from the marina/activity location. Ironically, some activities were simply booked through Tripadvisor with hotel pickup included, while others left customers entirely responsible for arranging and paying for transport themselves. Food was also mostly not included apart from limited breakfasts, despite the extremely high overall package cost. What made the experience even worse was the customer service. Responses were repetitive, dismissive, and focused on defending the package instead of genuinely addressing concerns or improving the guest experience. The overall impression was that the operator simply books whatever is cheapest and easiest without taking pride in what they are selling or caring how their guests actually experience the trip once they arrive. The activities themselves were fine, but overall this was very poor value for money and nowhere near the quality or experience suggested by the advertising and pricing.Show more

The “Hawaii – Kauai & Maui Islands Adventure” package was delivered exactly as advertised in the itinerary and inclusions provided prior to booking. This package includes: • Single-occupancy hotel accommodations including resort fees and taxes • 3 nights in Kauai and 3 nights in Maui • Carefully selected 3-star and 4-star rated hotels • Airport transfers • Inter-island flight from Kauai to Maui • Breakfasts • Guided Waimea Canyon tour in Kauai • Snorkeling tour in Kauai • Road to Hana guided tour in Maui • Snorkeling tour in Maui • Polynesian dinner show experience For clarity, hotel pickup was included for the Waimea Canyon and Road to Hana tours. Certain activities such as the snorkeling cruises and Polynesian show do not offer hotel pickup services through the activity operators themselves. Despite this, we still provided a courtesy reimbursement toward transportation expenses to assist during the trip. This tour is designed as a semi-independent island adventure that combines guided experiences with free time to explore Hawaii at your own pace. Many travellers specifically choose this format because it provides flexibility while still including major tours, logistics, accommodations, and inter-island transportation. Regarding accommodations, the hotels used are licensed 3-star and 4-star properties that meet the standards outlined in the package. Room views and hotel locations are based on the room categories booked and island availability. “Garden view” classifications are determined by the hotels themselves and may vary by property. All tours and activities are operated by licensed local suppliers and professional guides with years of experience in Hawaii tourism. There are no “premium” or “lower-tier” versions of the tours being substituted — all guests receive the same standard inclusions as described in the itinerary. We always strive to provide excellent service and transparent communication, and we appreciate all feedback as it helps us continue improving our guest experience. We have also successfully hosted many travellers on this Hawaii package who greatly enjoyed the balance of guided activities and personal exploration.
