There's no additional cost if your roommate decides to cancel. If you're traveling with a friend or family member, you can share a room with them. If you're traveling solo, we will place you with a same gender roommate upon arrival.

There are no restrictions as we accept volunteers of all ages and backgrounds!

I'm 25 can I still go on this trip?

There is no age limit to join and it looks like there are travelers between 18 and 29 on your trip so you'll be in good company.

Not at all! Currently, on your preferred trip there is a 23, 24 and two 25-year-olds so you'll be in good company. We'd love to have you join us in Hawaii!

My trip to the Big Island of Hawai’i changed my life and the way that I connect with my inner humanity. Yes, I got to go on amazing adventures like snorkeling with sea turtles, climbing a volcano and seeing it actually erupt, chasing waterfalls, exploring caves and black sand beaches, and so much more. But what made it all worth it was the relationships that I created and the wisdom that I received by living and working alongside the locals. Our project hosts gave me so many life tools with the completion of every project and our guides, Traven, Jordan, and Liv, where there to help our group every step of the way. Every time I pulled an invasive species out of the Earth, I pulled invasive thoughts out of my head. Every time I removed waste from the coastlines, I removed waste within myself. And every time I learned more of the Native’s wisdom, I unlearned the American norm of making a living and relearned the human beauty in making a life. I recommend this life altering trip to anyone and everyone. I felt so safe, so guided, and so changed the entire time. Thank you to the locals of the Big Island for welcoming me as family, my new ‘ohana that I found in my fellow volunteers, and GIVE for helping to make a trip like this possible.Show more

This experience really pushed me out of my comfort zone to try something new! As a first time solo traveler GIVE made me feel comfortable and eased my nerves. They were great at keeping me up to date with travel changes/flights. GIVE communicated trip information and details clearly in easy to read emails and texts. I took my GIVE Trip to Hawai'i this past June and had an amazing time there! This trip balanced volunteer work well with fun off the beaten path adventures. Some of these included scenic viewing, swimming at beaches, cave exploration and hiking (Kilauea Iki Trail). I enjoyed the free time they gave us to explore different towns/shops on the Big Island of Hawai'i (Honoka'a, Hilo, Kona). Our trip guides were also incredible in making the trip fun and safe. They made sure to check in with us on our work projects and keep our health and wellbeing a priority. GIVE really opened up my eyes to how to be an active global citizen. I truly learned a lot about environmental sustainability/stewardship and ecotourism. I highly recommend GIVE if you're looking to contribute to environmental initiatives or explore a new culture/destination!Show more

I was so so fortunate to find a group like GIVE, a volunteer group that cares more about just “helping around”. They blend culture and tradition into the work we do for the community, and truly take in the input of the people to what they need in that moment and time. I personally went to Hawaii, where I think that was practiced a lot and we did different projects everyday with many groups. While the cost is high, you definitely get a bang for your buck and get to experience and see a lot for what you put in. On top of hard work, they let you explore and experience the place your in deeper than that of a tourist. And theres that aspect of not wanting to be a tourist, where they teach you about what that entails and how to avoid participating in that forceful nature. Additionally, they have amazing guides who are young and bright and add to the magic of the trip and make it so fun. Plan on making long lasting relationships and memories with GIVE!Show more

My experience with GIVE was truly amazing. Leading up to my trip to Hawaii, GIVE communicated clearly and consistently, making sure we knew exactly what needed to be done to ensure everything went smoothly. They responded to emails and texts promptly and were always friendly and supportive. My time in Hawaii was life-changing. I learned so much and came home feeling completely fulfilled. The guides were incredible and made everyone feel comfortable and included. I formed lifelong connections and am incredibly grateful for the opportunity. I am so grateful for my second trip with GIVE Volunteers on the Big Island Hawai’i ? ? ? ? The people of Hawai’i have endless stories to tell that most people will never hear (or listen to). I’ll never forget the moment after a beach cleanup with the Hawaiian Wildlife Fund, when a local told us, “You have two eyes two ears and one mouth…what that means is you should look and listen twice as much as you speak.” As he spoke, he looked over his ancestors’ land while the powerful waves of Kawa Bay crashed behind him. Our guides taught us just a few Hawaiian words, but the one that resonated with many of us throughout the trip was mana. Mana is the universal life force that moves through everything, and it is deeply powerful on this island. Mahalo nui loa to our wonderful trip guides, for their open hearts guiding us on this once-in-a-lifetime experience. And of course, I could never forget to mention the loving ohana of my fellow volunteers—these are the most wonderful, like-minded people all dedicated to our work each and every day. Traveling to Hawaii with GIVE was one of the best experiences of my life. The people I met on the trip, ranging from the incredibly down-to-earth guides and the other passionate volunteers, are some of my dearest friends and I hope to stay in touch with them for the rest of my life. Immersing myself in the local culture of Hawaii’s big island allowed me to embrace a new cultural environment and learn from the steward and caretakers of the beautiful āina. Having been on this trip and making so many incredible friends, I would definitely recommend going on a GIVE trip to anyone and everyone who’s even slightly interested.   Because we have participants traveling from all over the world, and flight prices can vary so much depending on when you travel/your proximity to where you're traveling to, we are unable to include the cost of flights in our trip cost. But with that said, we partner with dedicated flight agents to help arrange the best flight options to our locations. After your spot is reserved and you've set up your profile, we can help get you started on giving you a quote on the available itineraries that other travelers are getting booked on, we can provide the exact parameters of when you need to arrive and depart for guided airport transfers.

- For any tour departing before October 19th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after October 19th, 2026, a minimum payment of 30% is required to confirm your booking with GIVE Volunteers. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 75 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and GIVE Volunteers will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "GIVE Volunteers" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
