Itinerary
- Day 1
Anchorage to Seward
You'll start early and board the Alaska Railroad for a four-hour journey south to Seward along the Coastal Classic route. The train travels along Turnagain Arm, passes Spencer Glacier's ice wall, and crosses the Kenai Mountains. Once you arrive in Seward, there's a hike on the Resurrection River trail through forest to see the glacial terminus and riverbank. After that you'll check into Harbor 360 Hotel for your three-night stay and have dinner with views of the harbor.

- Day 2
Seward
After a hearty breakfast, you're heading to Harding IceField for hiking on the Exit Glacier Overlook Trail. This moderately strenuous, well-maintained trail gives you broad views of Exit Glacier. If you want more of a challenge, there's an option to hike further and see the Harding IceField itself, which stretches across 700 square miles. You'll rise above the tree line to see ice and snow all the way to the horizon. Back in Seward, you can relax in the hot tub or hotel pool, then have dinner with local Alaskan cuisine.

Seward
Kenai Fjords National Park awaits with both kayak and boat exploration. This morning you'll paddle along Resurrection Bay's shoreline and protected coves looking for Dall's Porpoises, Stellar sea lions, and orca whales. Then you board a small ship where a naturalist guide explains the region while you cruise past seals, whales, puffins, rainforests, tidewater glaciers, and remote islands. Lunch comes on board. By afternoon you're back on shore with the choice to visit the Sealife Center or spend time at the hotel before dinner.

- Day 4
Hope to Girdwood
Your day starts with biking the Johnson Pass trail, covering 8 miles of the 23-mile route through the Kenai Mountains. You'll pass Granite Creek, wildflowers, waterfalls, and alpine valleys with impressive peaks and gorges. From there the route moves onto a quiet highway heading to Hope, an old Gold Rush town where you'll have lunch. Later you drive to Alyeska Prince Hotel in Girdwood for your two-night stay. Dinner is on your own at one of the nearby restaurants.

Girdwood
After breakfast you hike Winner Creek, an easy to moderate 5.5-mile round-trip starting from the Alyeska Hotel. The trail goes through lush evergreen forests and past a glacial blue river in North America's northernmost rainforest. You'll return to the hotel for lunch and time to rest. Later in the afternoon, you head out to hike Byron Glacier, starting at Byron Creek and climbing as the valley opens up and mountain views appear. By evening you and your guides have a final dinner at a local restaurant in Girdwood.

Girdwood to Anchorage
You'll start with a leisurely breakfast before biking the Girdwood Pathway to Indian Creek. The ride follows dramatic water and mountain views along what used to be part of the old Seward Scenic Highway and an old rail bed, with signs explaining geologic features. After that you transfer back to Anchorage to say goodbye to your travel companions and guides. You'll be dropped at your hotel or the airport, heading home with Alaskan memories and photos to share.
