- Day 1
Portaria
You'll arrive in Portaria and get settled into your accommodation. Spend the rest of the day wandering through the village at your own pace, checking out the narrow alleys, fountains, and traditional stone mansions. It's a good chance to get oriented and soak in the atmosphere of this traditional mountain village.

- Day 2
Portaria to Makrinitsa
Start a circular walk and hike from Portaria heading toward Makrinitsa. You'll walk through forests, pass a small church along the way, and take in views over Volos from the mountain paths. The route brings you back through country lanes and descends through a small green gorge before returning to your starting point.

Portaria to Agios Ioannis
Take a cab from Portaria down to the coastal town of Agios Ioannis. From there, begin a circular walk that takes you through the villages of Mouresi and Damouchari. You'll hike along cobblestone paths past olive groves, spend time in village squares, grab a meal at one of the local cafés in Damouchari, then walk to Papa Nero beach. After that, head back to Agios Ioannis to finish out the day.

Agios Ioannis
You have flexibility today and can either spend time relaxing on the beach or take a circular hike through dense forest. If you hike, the route descends to Vanikas beach with the option to detour to Agii Saranti beach if you want. Later you'll climb back inland, descend to Plaka beach, and walk along the coast back to Agios Ioannis.

Agios Ioannis to Tsangarada
Walk along the coast to Damouchari, a small fishing village with a nice pebble beach where you can spend some time. There's an option to take a quick detour to Fakistra beach if you're interested. From there, hike uphill to Tsangarada, a long village with many churches and village squares. Your hotel is located in the Agia Paraskevi district of the village.

Tsangarada to Milies
Start your hike heading south over the mountain range at about 700 meters elevation. You'll pass through Tsangarada village and then continue uphill along old mule tracks that follow a ridge through forests. The path takes you through magnificent chestnut and beech forest with views out over the Pagasitic Gulf. Eventually you'll descend to Milies, an idyllic mountain village surrounded by ancient olive groves.

- Day 7
Milies to Kala Nera and back to Milies
From Milies, hike downhill on the Kalderimia toward the coast, walking through olive groves to reach the coastal town of Kala Nera. Stop for lunch on a village square under a plane tree. After eating, make your way back uphill following cobbled paths and narrow-gauge railroad tracks that lead back to Milies. Along the way you'll come across interesting old stone bridge architecture and the cave of mythological Chiron.
