Itinerary
- Day 1
Quito to Otavalo
Your driver picks you up from your Quito accommodation and takes you by private vehicle to Otavalo, a town with a strong indigenous presence. The drive takes you through mountain scenery up to 2,532 meters altitude, surrounded by Imbabura, Cotacachi and Mojanda volcanoes. Once there, you'll notice the Kichwa culture throughout Otavalo with locals wearing traditional clothing, and the streets filled with musicians, farmers, and textile vendors selling their goods.

- Day 2
Otavalo
After your 07:30 am pickup, you're transferred to Ucshapungo community at 3,250 meters altitude to start a 4 to 5 hour downhill mountain bike ride through an ecological reserve. The route takes you past Cuicocha Lake (called 'the lake of guinea pigs' in Kichwa), and you'll continue riding through the reserve to reach the indigenous community of Cotacachi. Lunch happens in Cotacachi, then you head back to Otavalo for the evening.

Otavalo to Quito
Your accommodation driver transfers you from Otavalo to the bus station, and staff help you purchase your ticket for the journey back to Quito. After the bus ride to Carcelen station in Quito, another transfer takes you from the station to your Quito accommodation, completing your return to the city.
