The hotels we were placed varied. Blu Azur First day breakfast was cold so I only had coffee. Water pressure...
The hotels we were placed varied. Blu Azur First day breakfast was cold so I only had coffee. Water pressure terrible in the room was terrible and very difficult to rinse soap off body. Very difficult to wash my hair. Only cold water. Location was in a run down area and did not feel safe. Roaches in the room. Dinner was not good. The staff were all eating when I got there. Had to use Google Translate and they brought me the wrong food. Brought the right one after I complained. Had to keep going to ask for more beverages. Acted like I wasn't there. Second day I had bread and fruit and hot eggs for breakfast which was decent. Third day at 715 restaurant and office still closed when I was told breakfast was at 7. Got grease laden eggs, croissant and danish. Couldn't eat it. AC didn't work well especially at night. Staff didn't speak English and not friendly. Actually ignored you. Got moved to Canelya by the beach. Very nice. Great location. Clean, smelled good, very large room, Netflix, wonderful water pressure with hot water. Breakfast was juice, coffee, bread, fruit and cakes but was very good. Comfortable beds. Spoke English and staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel. Bois Vert hotel in Abomey. Basic hotel breakfast was bad. Ants in rooms and not as clean as I would like. Had bad smell. Fair. Far from anything. Morada Lodge Cove. Very modern and clean. Smells fabulous. I had spaghetti bolognese and was very good. Reasonable prices. They need hooks to hang clothing and some place to open luggage. No wardrobes. A simple luggage rack would do. Hot water and excellent water pressure. Had a pool, but we arrived late and left in the morning so could not take advantage of the pool. Would definitely recommend. Freedom Palace in Porto Novo is outdated. Roaches in the room. Light stayed on shining in my face, my guess it was an emergency light. Hit my head on Shower faucet when sitting down on toilet. Bathroom had very bad design. Very noisy on a main road. No hot water. Felt gross all day. Not a great way to end my stay in Benin. My guide was not waiting for me at the airport with a sign as promised. I had no idea which hotel I was going to be in. Someone local had to log me into their WiFi to get a message from my guide. Not a warm welcoming feeling.Show more
