Bilbao to Pamplona
The day starts with a guided walk through Bilbao's old town, navigating narrow alleys and stopping at the cathedral and Plaza Nueva. After that, you'll drive to Pamplona where the evening is yours to explore at your own pace.

Pamplona region
You'll visit Leyre monastery set among limestone cliffs where Benedictine monks still live today. From there, you'll drive along the scenic Yesa reservoir to reach Sangüesa and tour the Romanesque church of Santa María la Real. The day ends with a walk through Olite to see the old royal palace where Navarre's kings once lived.

Olite to Burgos
You'll hike the Way of St. James from Uterga through Obanos to Puente la Reina where different pilgrimage routes meet. After that, you'll head into La Rioja region and walk through Logroño's old town. You'll tour Laguardia's medieval walls and its Gothic church, then try wine in a traditional bodega. Before reaching Burgos, you'll see the cathedral of Santo Domingo de la Calzada with its famous chicken coop.

The monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos comes next, where you can hear Gregorian chant from the monks. On the return, you'll stop in Lerma to see its aristocratic palaces.

León to Lugo
Starting with the museum in the Basilica of San Isodoro in León, you'll then drive to Astorga to see its cathedral and Gaudí's quirky bishop's palace. Following the Way of St. James, you'll reach Ponferrada and tour its medieval Templar castle. Later, you'll enter Galicia and visit O Cebreiro with its distinctive stone huts. The day concludes in Lugo where you can walk around the Roman walls and see its many towers.
