Heavenly Lake - Guhai Hot Spring
Head out for a 1-hour drive to Heavenly Lake, a high mountain lake in the Tianshan Mountains with clear water and snow-capped peaks reflecting on the surface. After spending time there, you'll drive another hour to Guhai Hot Spring in the Gurbantünggut Desert for a relaxing soak.

Turpan
The drive to Turpan takes about 4 hours. Once you arrive at this historic Silk Road hub, you'll see the ancient city of Jiaohe, check out the Karez Irrigation System (an engineering feat from centuries past), and visit the impressive Emin Minaret to learn about the region's history.

Urumqi
Start with breakfast, then explore Gaochang ancient city, the Bezklik Grottoes, and Astana Ancient Tombs. The drive back to Urumqi takes the afternoon, but you'll have time to wander through Erdaoqiao Bazaar before the day ends, browsing local products and crafts.
