  Egypt was Breathtaking! It exceeded my expectations and beyond. Such a beautiful country filled with some much history and culture. I honestly cannot pick a favorite part to my trip, I loved every single minute of it. From seeing the Pyramids, The Sphinx, Valley of the Kings, Hatsepshut temple, sailing down the famous Nile river, having high tea at the Old Cataract Hotel and flying Abu Simbel it was just a dream vacation. Also, the Travel Director Assem was AWESOME! He was super knowledgable, funny, helpful and so passionate of his country. He really made our trip even more special. His storytelling made it more fun to learn and understand. Egypt is now on my go back list! Don't miss out on this special journey!Show more

  Traveling to Egypt was an experience I’ll never forget. The destination is incredible and traveling with Insight Vacations made it all the more memorable. I can’t say enough about our itinerary which took us beyond traditional visits. Of course seeing the Pyramids of Giza was a dream come true, but there is so much more to this country, that, had I traveled on my own I would have never seen. Our Travel Direct and crew on the MS Media were phenomenal. The attention to detail, knowledge and passion were what made this trip so unique. The locals in Egypt are very friendly and though I’d hate to admit it, there is always concern when traveling (anywhere) but I felt incredibly safe and welcomed. I’d highly recommend this trip and urge you to travel to Egypt in the future. It is well worth it.Show more

  To say that this was the trip of a lifetime would be an understatement. I knew that this trip would include all of the famous sights you can find in any guide book, however, what I didn't expect was getting to dive headfirst in such an amazing culture. I would have never been able to scratch the service of all the amazing things we did on this tour if I had not traveled with Insight. The two highlights of our trip (beside the breathtaking ancient sights) were our high tea at the Cataract Hotel in Aswan and breaking bread with an Egyptian family in Luxor. I knew I would never be able to set something like this up on my own, and I am incredibly grateful for opportunity to say that I did these things. All my friends and family were so jealous of the photos I posted from these two experiences. Our Tour Director was first class from start to finish and made us feel like were were part of the family by the end of our trip. I know that I have made life long friends on my journey and I hope that this is first of many trips I take with Insight.Show more

  I was a little apprehensive when initially considering this journey but I am so glad I traveled to Egypt with Insight Vacations! Every detail was handled to perfection. From acquiring the visa at the airport upon arrival to the very last luggage transfer, the professionals at Insight Vacations handled it all! Our Egyptologist, Assem, was beyond amazing in his knowledge of the history, culture and traditions of this indescribable place. Cairo was hectic as more than 20 million people are moving about but with our skilled and professional motorcoach operator onboard a brand new motorcoach we were protected from the chaos of the traffic. Of course the highlights of the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the Museum and the incredible light show in the evening were bucket list experiences. Flying to Luxor to see the amazing Temple of Karnak and spending 4 nights on the MS Medea traveling up the Nile was incredible. The service aboard the Medea was truly world class. The staff was so attentive and the atmosphere so relaxed. I could spend weeks, not days sailing the Nile with that kind of service! The high tea at the Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan was also a highlight. I felt as if Agatha Christie were about to walk down from her room and join us. Finally, the optional experience to Abu Simbel was wonderful! Don't miss this highlight! Finally, I can't recommend this journey enough. If you want to experience the magic of an ancient civilization but do it with modern amenities, this is the company and the journey for you.Show more

  I can't say what I loved most about this trip. At first I was astounded by how Egyptian people are so friendly and keen to make sure that travellers felt at ease (except perhaps for market stall sellers who tend to be a little on the over-enthusiastic side!), but then I was awestruck by the breath-taking monuments all over the country that continue to be uncovered even to this day. The food was delicious (the buffets on the boat were incredible) and service spectacular. Our Travel Director was thoughtful, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and kind. The High Tea at the Old Cateract Hotel was truly a highlight, and the visit to the village bakery (Egyptian Village) gave us a wonderful chance to see how rural Egyptians live (what a wonderful family!!). I would do exactly the same trip all over again!Show more

  I did my first Insight Vacation in Egypt and wasn't sure what to expect. They are top shelf! Every whim of some rather demanding people in our group was met with a smile and no problem. The knowledge of Akron our guide who said we should not focus on him but he really was amazing! The people of Egypt are warm and the country overwhelmingly exotic with thousands of years or preserve history. Put this on your bucket list. You won't regret it and the Insight teamwill take are of every little detail, and yes we were quite safe. always. Our guide Akron was simply incredible! Show more

  The Marriott in Cairo was a great place to stay. The rooms were nice and the service was good. The Insight reps provided service above and beyond the call of duty. They handled check in at the hotel and for a the flights within Egypt and for the trip home. Our Tour Director, Assem was a very knowledgeable and interesting guide to the attractions. He had a great personality and took care of us on the tour. The security was good everywhere we went on the tour. The two boats(Lake Nasser and the Nile) were nice. The cabins were comfortable and the crew provided good service. The people were nice and very courteous. The hawkers at the ruins are hurting and can be somewhat aggressive, but will back off if you ignore them. We walked around the hotel and over to the Egyptian Museum - no problems. Great time to go - no crowds and they need the business. Show more
