You'll touch down in Bangkok and get settled at your hotel where you'll meet your Travel Director and the rest of your group. This evening over dinner, you'll sample your first real Thai dishes and get filled in on what's coming up over the next couple of weeks.

- Day 2
Bangkok
Start with the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha, then walk through Chinatown's busy streets where goldsmiths and food vendors line the shops. You'll see the solid gold Buddha at Wat Traimit before lunch, and then it's your choice between the reclining Buddha at Wat Pho or Jim Thompson's House with its historic teak structures.

Bangkok
Bangkok is yours to explore however you'd like. If you want a guided option, join the optional trip to Ayutthaya to see Bang Pa-In Summer Palace and wander through ancient temples and ruins. Otherwise, check out high-end shopping malls, get a Thai massage, or spend time relaxing at Lumpini Park.

Bangkok to Hua Hin
Head to Damnoen Saduak floating market early and take a boat tour through the canals where vendors sell fruits, vegetables, and handmade items from their sampans. Later you'll travel to Hua Hin on the coast and have the rest of the day to either relax or explore this seaside town.

Hua Hin
Start at Phra Nakhon Khiri, a palace sitting 100 meters above the city with views across Hua Hin. After lunch, you'll explore Khao Luang Cave with its stalactites and Buddha statues inside. The rest of your afternoon and evening is free to relax or check out the local night market.

Hua Hin
You have a free day in Hua Hin to relax on the beaches or join the optional trip to Baan Silapin Artist Village and Monsoon Valley Vineyards. Travel back to Bangkok and catch your flight to Penang, Malaysia. Once you arrive in this cultural hub famous for its food, you'll head to your hotel and meet your Malaysian Travel Director for an orientation about the exciting days coming up.

Penang
Tour the Penang Batik Handicraft Centre to see traditional batik work, visit traditional Malay villages and paddy fields, then stop at the Snake Temple. Later ride through George Town's colonial streets and street art by rickshaw. You can optionally head up to Kek Lok Si Temple or Penang Hill for views before a local dinner.

From there you'll travel into the tea-covered Cameron Highlands.

You can also join the optional trip to Malacca to see colonial architecture like the pink Stadthuys and Malaysia's oldest functioning temple with traditional Peranakan Nyonya lunch.
