  There was too much time on the bus and not enough time to explore the area. It felt like oh we can check that off and...
  There was too much time on the bus and not enough time to explore the area. It felt like oh we can check that off and now move on. Greg was very knowledgeable about the area but the history of the area we went to were all very sima d it was basically the same thing over and over. I did like the cooking and cocktail experiences. We would have liked more interaction experience rather just seeing and leaving. We were constantly warned on the scatter lunches that if there was a line go somewhere else. Often that somewhere else was quite a walk and we never had time to just sit and enjoy the meals. We were constantly being rushed from place to place. I resented that he told us what we could talk about and what we couldn’t . We were adults and if someone didn’t want to hear a conversation they could just ignore it. Most of the accommodation were very good. Inverary was not a great one however. When the weather didn’t cooperate there was no plan b. My biggest comp is the lack of time to get meals we were responsible for. There were times where I just had to skip a meal to be able to. be back on the bus The area we went to were all very beautiful.Show more

We appreciate that while the areas you visited were beautiful, you would have preferred more opportunities for meaningful interaction and immersion rather than simply visiting a place before moving on. We are also sorry to read about the challenges you experienced with the time available for meals. Having to search for somewhere to eat, walk further than expected and, on some occasions, miss a meal in order to return to the coach on time is understandably frustrating. Your comments regarding the scatter lunches and the need for greater flexibility around meal times are particularly valuable and will be shared with the relevant team. It is encouraging to read that you enjoyed the cooking and cocktail experiences, and we appreciate your kind comments regarding the Travel Director’s knowledge of the region. At the same time, we acknowledge your concerns about the historical commentary, the limited variety in the information provided and your experience of being told what conversations were appropriate. We understand that guests are adults and should feel comfortable expressing themselves during their holiday, and we are sorry that this aspect left you feeling uncomfortable. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the accommodation, particularly your concerns about the Inveraray property, as well as the lack of alternative arrangements when the weather did not cooperate. Contingency planning can make a significant difference to a guest’s experience, and your comments will be passed to the relevant teams for consideration.   We had a wonderful time! Carmen (Tour Director) and Kelly (Driver), made this experience carefree and were so well organized and considerate, there wasn't anything to concern ourselves with, except being on time. Communication was very clear. We celebrated our Anniversary on this trip and Carmen organized things so that we had a memorable day!Show more

  Local guides were generally well chosen - Jim the tuna fisherman and the lobster boat presentation were exceptionally good. The Rossignol winery was a waste of time. Alan the Acadian needs an editor. The Cabot Trail experience was not great - too much driving for too few iconic views. Hopewell Rocks on the Bay of Fundy was much better, by way of contrast, but could have spent an extra hour there. Also at the AG Bell museum in Baddeck. Overall we enjoyed it but found the pace generally too rushed.Show more

  This was our 7th trip with Insight and this was a nice paced tour of the Maritimes. The tour director was excellent as well as the coach driver. As long as my wife and I can keep traveling we'll be going with Insight.Show more

  Great scenery, tour director, coach driver, local expert guides. Lots to see and do. Includes some stays in somewhat remote locations, so ok but not great. Others in Halifax, Charlottetown, Digby were very nice. Itinerary is jamb packed. Often terrain is hilly, so challenging for those which find walking difficult. Fun trip overall!Show more
