The tour guides of both Scotland and Ireland were great and knowledgeable. Most of the hotels chosen were of high standards and of good value except for Muthu Newton Hotel which was quite run down internally and staff were unprofessional. We lucked out on the weather on our entire trip and had outstanding weather. Our tour guides were so informative and fun in both Scotland and Ireland. Even with the wrench of our guide getting injured during our trip, everything went smoothly for us and we had a very happy and fun vacation. We absolutely loved our guides and drivers who all went that extra mile that just makes a vacation so much more relaxing. Not once did we have to worry about our bags or any other details. We always knew when/where to be, and where we were going next. We learned so much about both countries and absolutely plan to go back with CIE next year. The Scotland side of our tour was perfect. Fabulous Tour Guide and Driver. Food, hotels, tour in general were superb. Cannot say enough about this part of tour. Ireland was sadly lacking. Our tour guide seemed like he was not interested, the driver seemed irritated with the tour guide most of the time. The tours were lacking in substance, too much time on the freeway in the bus. (in Scotland we rarely traveled freeways, only smaller roads through the country) Issues with hotels that our tour guide said immediately "you know this is not my fault". We did not see some of the things we were told we would. After a few days of this most of us were ready to go home.Show more
