What people love about 3-week UK and Great Britain tours
- Britain and Ireland Panorama (London Overnights)
The Great Britain and Ireland tour was superb. The tour director and driver were excellent and made the journey fun and relaxing. The group of strangers that started became a family before the adventure ended with many exchanging information for future contact.
- UK & Ireland: Panoramas & Pubs
Tim was a sensational guide! He went out of his way to make sure we all had the best of every city, and gave great advice on what to see and where to eat! His enthusiasm rubs off on everyone on tour! Can’t speak highly enough of the bloke as a guide and as a person.
- Grand Tour of Britain & Ireland
We saw everything with variations some within the control of the tour guide some not , it was made up as we went along within the bounds of the general outlines of the tour , over all the rest of the travellers were great with the odd exceptions on various days , this was conducive to alcohol consumption which was used as a pain relief for the continuous narration and DJing by the tour guide who had good days n bad , being 35 he boarded on bullying his captive audience , who by the way were old enough to be his Grandparents or at the very least his Mum n Dad , NO USE OF TOILET ON THE BUS , the to test the theory we will drive for two and a half hours between toilet stops , THIS IS BAD THE ELDERLY ARE SUBJECT YO POOR BOWL AND BLADDER CONTROL DUE TO AGE , being oblivious to this or ignorant of the fact we plowed on from great hotels to cheap rubbish , WITH STAIRS FOR THE AVERAGE 65 yo 80 year old people to manage their suitcases , NOT GOOD ! It became worse as we went on , being filled with our travel guides interpretation of history , but being Northern Irish n having attended 4 Universities ( not sure of degrees obtained if any) there was little he could be told , or discuss , even though his captives the mature aged people on the bus had more life skills in their little finger than his interpretation of history and life , lucky he has room to grow in maturity and age wise , the Bus driver Meirion was highly skilled n kept us safe even to the point of rectifying miss information on meeting places for us to return to the bus a true gentleman , The tour generally covered a vast arena of history and events , so it could be said to be a Glimpse of the UK , history and events , so as a review in stars ( remember the parameters are like your hotel star rating ! Coach n Captain 5 stars ( except the toilet thing) Tour guide . 4 stars ( he did his best for his age ) Accomodation . 2 to 3 stars ( some by the tour guides own admission were pretty rough n not conducive to the elderly people on the trip) Food . 1 2 stars , Generally ok ,breakfasts n some dinners Tipping for service re Tour guide and Coach Captain was a main concern and worry to the HAIR OF GREY FEET OF CLAY brigade , the request was over the top and being reminded of gratuity rewards was only more confronting , do you not pay these people the appropriate reward for effort ? The extra activities on the tour were what’s known as “ kick back activity” except for the ones incorporated in the initial cost . Otherwise the tour was as is its wearing just from the travelling point of view but Im not sure of any other way , to see what we saw Star rating for the trip 3 out of a possible5
