The tour guides of both Scotland and Ireland were great and knowledgeable. Most of the hotels chosen were of high standards and of good value except for Muthu Newton Hotel which was quite run down internally and staff were unprofessional. Even with the wrench of our guide getting injured during our trip, everything went smoothly for us and we had a very happy and fun vacation. We absolutely loved our guides and drivers who all went that extra mile that just makes a vacation so much more relaxing. Not once did we have to worry about our bags or any other details. We always knew when/where to be, and where we were going next. We learned so much about both countries and absolutely plan to go back with CIE next year. Cannot say enough about this part of tour. Ireland was sadly lacking. Our tour guide seemed like he was not interested, the driver seemed irritated with the tour guide most of the time. The tours were lacking in substance, too much time on the freeway in the bus. (in Scotland we rarely traveled freeways, only smaller roads through the country) Issues with hotels that our tour guide said immediately "you know this is not my fault". Asked on February 12th, 2024What level of hotels are they (how many stars). It looks like only one dinner is included. How about breakfast or any other meals, or beverage or food tastings included? How much deposit is required for a trip in July?

I would recommend the Scottish & Irish Gold - 15 Days/14 Nights. Not only is it a bit longer, but it is at a bit of a slower pace and not so rushed. Both would be amazing small group tours. I would not be able to provide a 5% discount. However, you do have USD $414.52 worth of Travel Credits that I can add as a discount for you.

Asked on November 6th, 2023My mother has a difficult time walking distances. She has her own mobility scooter. Can she bring her scooter with her and will she be able to use it throughout the tour?

You most certainly can bring a wheelchair, collapsable scooter, or walker. However, wheelchairs/scooters must be lightweight and fully collapsible. They must also travel with a companion who can push the wheelchair, and you must be able to climb on and off the coach on your own.
