  The sites themselves were amazing and we loved seeing the Roman Ruins. However it is only a 4 day tour. Our guide Radi, while having a nice disposition, fumbled and bumbled his way through the tour. While his english was ok, his comprehendion when answering questions was limited. He read notes to himself in the car before we arrived at a site and then proceeded to get lost at every location.. We had to pay for local guides to help him to show us around. He didn't add any adfitional.knowledge to information we could read for ourselves on site info boards. We actually asked if he had been to the sites before, and he said, yes., many times. On the day we were scheduled to see Mahktar he told us in the car, it was always closed on a Monday. We were not offered an alterative site, alterative option or any other suggestion. The hotels may have once been 5 star but are certainly not anymore and seem to be dilapidated into 3 star mass tour group hotels. Every meal was a group smorgasboard even though we were the only 2 people on our tour. We asked for some local experiences at local restaurants but Radi said he only had vouchers for large group caferteria style smorgasboards. We feel like we missed experiencing local customs and learning more about Tunisia. We are intrepid travellers and always appreciate a local.guide so this was disappointing for us.Show more

  Well organised tour, excellent guide and driver. As a suggestion, it would be preferable to stay in more authentic accommodation instead of 5 star tourist hotels and eat local food instead of tourist buffets.Show more

  Itinerary: five-star. It was well planned, gave me a good experience, and helped me better understand Tunisia. Hotel: four-star. The hotel in Tunisia needs serious renovations to the guest rooms. The public areas are nice, and the food is good. Other hotels on the itinerary are good but not five-star as claimed. Driver: four-star. He did a good job driving, but didn't say a word when I gave him tips based on general guidelines. Guide: two-star. He is too old to be a tour guide. He kept complaining about his knee and couldn't walk at a normal pace. His English is very poor, with a heavy accent. He is also not knowledgeable about half of the area. I saw him reading his notes for the sites we visited in the car multiple times. The description is very dry. Because of his health, I had to visit a couple of the medinas later on my own, and luckily, I found some friendly locals who walked me through many interesting alleys. He also had poor directions. He took me inside the museum and archaeological site and kept walking in circles because he was lost. The worst part is that he kept reminding me about tips, even after he saw me giving generous tips to the local guide. On the last day, he basically asked for tips, didn't bother to say thank you, and walked away. I am a generous tipper and always follow guidelines. For a good guide, I also give extra. But I’ve never met a guide like him after visiting over 150 countries.Show more

  Tour went according to plan and generally overall good. A couple of not so goods, as I was the only tourist the choice of vehicle a Toyota LandCruiser is Ok for off roading but the suspension a little too hard for the very uneven roads around the country, the driver was very good however, no complaints there. The guides English not too good and difficult to understand. He did ask at the beginning if I could understand him and I though by the end of the tour my understanding of his English would be better but unfortunately maybe only just a little better.. Hotels good, meals mostly good.Show more

From making the reservations, Rawen was an outstanding hospitality customer oriented agent and helped book pre and post trip hotel stays. There was a misunderstanding in hotel room class at El Mouradi and Sara made it right!Show more

  Our trip was well organized and offered a great variety of historical sights, equally interesting and unique. I would especially recommend our tour guide Hammdi who was exceptionally well informed not only on historical matters but generally on anything related to Tunisia. The program is dense but we were offered to take breaks several times - which we did not take, because we wanted to explore as much as we could. So if you're a curious person that is interested in the culture and history of Tunisia and open for a slightly different experience than what usual tourist tours provide, this one is definitly for you!Show more

  Great trip. I feel that I saw more Roman ruins in Tunisia than in Italy. Depending on your enthusiasm, one could walk amongst the past for hours getting lost in what was. You can glance out into the seas and imagine the invaders (and invaders …) in their boats approaching the shoreline. Mr. Kamel and the driver were very attentive to my needs. They did a professional job in a personable way.Show more
