    Wendy

Does this trip line up with the Highlands tribes and goroka festival trip ending on Sept.22,2027? What is the price for this trip?

    • Indigo SafarisOperatorWritten January 2026

No it does not. That Sepik trip is not offered on Tour Radar. Only directly through Best of PNG.

      TravelerWritten January 2026

I might as well book both directly through you. I won't be ready to book these until mid July of this year, is that too late?

    • Indigo SafarisOperatorWritten January 2026

      For 2027, not too late.

    Jerry

    Asked on August 28th, 2025

I am exploring options and availability for a single lady interested in cultural experiences in PNG. Her preferences are: mountains/interior over beaches, though she's happy to include coastal areas. She would like to join a group but understands this might be tricky. Additional details: traveling alone but happy to share, 10–12 days duration, budget-conscious (not luxury).

The trip requires two people to operate. On 6th October, we don't have anyone else.

January is in the rainy season, and we don't run group trips then as villages are often flooded.

    Asked on October 28th, 2024

Is Papua New Guinea safe at this time?

    Tour Details
    Travel Support
    • Indigo SafarisOperatorWritten October 2024

PNG is safe for tourists, and always has been. On the Global Peace Index it ranks higher than the USA and other popular destinations like Brazil, Turkey, and the Philippines to name a few. However, this trip requires a minimum of two people and no one else is booked at present. December is the start of the rainy season too, so not a great time to go to the Sepik and the Highlands. Oro Province would provide a good village hopping experience though, going along the north coast of Cape Nelson.

    Asked on October 27th, 2024

Will there be a tour in Sep. 2025?

    Tour Details

Yes a September tour is planned from 22nd to 28th September, after the Goroka festival. It's on our main website.

      Valerie

      TravelerWritten October 2024

Is there a guided tour for the time of the Goroka festival?

    • Indigo SafarisOperatorWritten October 2024

Yes there is an eight-night Highlands Tribes Tour 15 to 23 September, covering Western Highlands, the Goroka Festival, and some private sing sings. Also four-night Goroka Festival only packages.

We can arrange a bespoke Sepik trip for your group, with more nights in the villages if you like. We also arrange bespoke travel all over the country, from the coast to Mt Wilhelm, the highest point of the country, and of course cover the Goroka Festival in the middle of September.
