I just wanted to enquire about the longer bus trips on the Aztecs and Mayas tour. I was wondering how often there were stops to stretch and maybe go to the toilet. Also, are they tour buses or public buses? Tour looks fantastic btw - I am quite fit but just need to stretch every hour or so if sitting down. If this tour doesn't sound suitable for me I would appreciate any recommendations.

It is usually operated in a Van or Sprinter, depending on the number of passengers. The longest stretch is from San Cristóbal de las Casas to Palenque, and it typically takes place very early in the morning; most of our travelers use this time to rest during the drive. We understand that stops can be important; however, making one every hour would alter the itinerary and could prevent us from completing all the scheduled visits. Even so, our team always does its best to make the journey as comfortable as possible for everyone.

How do we arrange hotel transfer at that time? How many people, maximum, will be on this tour? What type of vehicle? Can you arrange an extra night in Cancun after the end of the tour, and a possible 3-day stay in Tulum after the tour, and transportation back to Cancun for our flight home?

Usually, the groups are not very crowded but the maximum number we have is 30. The type of vehicle to be used depends on how many people is taking the tour. We can provide options for transfers and post accommodation so you can book those services with us if you are happy with the options we offer.

This is a shared guided tour. The vehicle depends on the number of participants; they are usually vans. The group size varies from day to day, as does the guide. The flights required for this program are not included; they must be purchased at your own expense. We suggest you follow the instructions specified in the program description.

I wanted to find out more about the ratings of the hotels you will be using on this tour. Also my friend and I are planning to travel to Tulum for a 2 days after we finish with you at Cancun, can you advise me how easy this is to do?

The hotels we use in standard category are 3 stars and in superior category 4 stars. We suggest you to look for information about the published hotels, however, these are not the final ones, depending on availability we can confirm in similar hotels in 3 or 4 stars depending on the category you book. At the end of your tour we can drop you off in the center of Tulum so that you can take a taxi to take you to the hotel you have booked on your own. We did not enter the hotel zone of Tulum.

We cannot purchase the domestic flight but we can assist you as to where to buy it once you have booked the tour. In Chichen Itza, the tour covers the Temple of Kukulkan (El Castillo), Great Ball Court, Skull Platform, and Sacred Cenote. After the tour, we will drop you off at your selected extension hotel in Cancun or Riviera Maya. For country permits and special requirements, check the official Mexican government website or the Mexico Embassy website in Singapore.

What is the latest time my flight should arrive to join the tour?

Flights should arrive in Tuxtla by 13:00 at the latest to ensure participation in the tour activities.

The trip planned area covered the intent of tour seeing different interesting places but limitations of the trip was restricting the full benefit 1-Tour guides in general have limited knowledge and most with poor English not sure what was the issue 2-Hotels were not what we expected specifically in San Cristobal (Casa Vieja) and Merida (Mision de Fray Diego ) although location was good the rest were good 3-Cancelled the fiist day to anthropology Museum (explanation about pollution ?! ) 4-The tours have no relation to Touradar so for example one lunch was included and the guide/driver said after we asked said that he will give us 300 Pesos for lunch allowance ( very unusual) 5-With too many different guides and number of people in the tours many were by ourselves like in Chichen Itza the guide decided less than one hour was enough and can give us more time on our own in other word the real problem in our mind is the filling the spots rather than knowing people and keep them regularly 6-It was really great areas to visit and wonderful people and country to visit for the first time I think review of the trip with same guide and driver for at least around same area will be beneficial and better overview understandingShow more

All kept us safe though, which is most important in this area. One guide unfortunately made an offhand racist comment towards the end of his tour, which unfortunately colored our whole perception of his commentary. I spoke with him about this and he did not apologize, but agreed to rethink his opinion. I've traveled to over 60 countries and unfortunately this is just something you encounter every now and then. We nearly missed our flight due to poor communication and arrangement as transport failed to turn up and we have to call for taxi to airport and incurred additional cost to us. Some of the hotel also needs improvement as it is too basic n no privacy. Room door is not closing fully n air conditioning leaking.   Since this is a shared tour, can the guides speak both English and Spanish, or only English if the group only speaks English. Arrival transfer is included in the program on the available date chosen by the client from Mexico City airport to hotel on Mexico City. Transfer from the hotel in Mexico to the Mexico City airport is also included so clients can board their flight to Tuxtla Gutierrez. Our service ends by dropping clients off at the hotel they have booked themselves at the end of the itinerary. Once the reservation is confirmed, a welcome letter is sent to clients one week before the program begins. We include a WhatsApp support number where they can contact us for assistance if needed. Payment information
- For any tour departing before May 15th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after May 15th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Destination Services Mexico. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Destination Services Mexico will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Destination Services Mexico" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
