  Many Americans have trepidations about traveling to India. I felt completely safe and comfortable the whole trip. Accommodations and transfers were first class. Food was exotic, delicious and no Delhi belly. If you have ever dreamed of visiting majestic India do yourself a favor and put yourself in the expert, thoughtful and caring hands of Turban Adventures. We visited six cities in eleven days. The breadth of experiences was outstanding. We had knowledgeable guides for palaces, forts, memorials, gates, temples and other landmarks. We celebrated the Festival of Holi, International Women's Day and visited the Taj Mahal at sunrise. We feed and walked through the jungle with rescued elephants and then had a candlelight, outdoor dinner at the reserve. We frequented flower, vegetable and spice markets/bazaars and saw woven and hand stamped textiles, religious rituals, miniature painting and antique dealers. We traveled by rickshaw, tuk tuk, private car, boat and airplane but never stepped foot on a single bus. We had a dedicated car and chauffeur, Ashok, for the entire trip. In addition to being a highly skilled driver with a very warm and pleasant personality, he provided information on landmarks, restaurants, stores and helped us secure the best photo opportunities. One evening we had a cooking demonstration and exquisite meal in a private home. Our aptly named tour operator, Manohar, had arranged a surprise birthday celebration for me completed with singing, a cake and candle. A couple staying at my hotel attended so I arranged to ride back with them and asked Ashok to take the evening off to spend time with his family since we were in his hometown. Four hours later I emerged to find him waiting. He said that I was his responsibility and that his duty was to provide for my safety and well being while I was in India. Lodgings ranged from a luxury 5 star hotel with rooftop dining to a quaint, old world garden inn to breathtaking reflections of sunsets from a corner room overlooking the lake in Udaipur. We were given the flexibility of adding sites to our itinerary which our tour operator, Manohar, then scheduled or omitting events as we chose. Manohar was available 24/7 for the entire trip. He was extremely conscientious, attentive and did everything possible to insure a wonderful travel experience. You will never forget the beauty and heart of India. The people are charming and possess great dignity. The scenery is extraordinary. Bougainvillea and orchids were in bloom in abundance. We saw cows, peacocks, monkeys, goats, donkeys, camels, dog and leopards.The poverty of this vibrant and spiritual nation unfortunately is also indelible.Show more

  Fantastic Holi tour with the Best of Rajasthan. Manohar goes above and beyond, spending time with guests and doing personal pickups from airport even at 2 AM. Your included main tourist sites as well as meals and time spent in local family homes. They thought of every detail, including outfits for Holi and local sweets. Hotels were very nice. Highly recommend to anyone who comes to India.Show more
