- Day 1
Livingstone
You'll touch down in Livingstone and get picked up at the airport for the ride to your lodge. Once you're settled, head out on the Zambezi River for a sunset cruise above Victoria Falls. Back at the lodge that evening, there's a chance to do some birdwatching before your tour guide gives you a briefing and dinner.

- Day 2
Victoria Falls
Start with breakfast and get the full rundown on birdwatching ethics and what to expect from the tour. Spend your morning around Livingstone looking for Yellow-throated Sandgrouse and Southern Ground Hornbill. Later on, head to Victoria Falls where you might catch African Black Swift and Schalow's Turaco. Return to the lodge, update your bird log, and have dinner.

Landmarks Victoria Falls - Day 3
Livingstone to Choma to Masuku Lodge
Leave early and drive north through good roads toward Choma, about 290.7 km away. Stop in Choma to visit the museum and crafts centre to learn about Tonga heritage. After lunch, continue on to Masuku Lodge near Nkanga Conservation Area where you'll spend the next two nights in lakeside chalets surrounded by bird life and tall trees.

Landmarks Choma Museum and Crafts Centre Nkanga Conservation Area - Day 4
Nkanga Conservation Area
Spend the full day birdwatching in Nkanga Conservation Area, one of Zambia's top birding spots. You'll walk and drive through Miombo and Munga woodland, thickets, and dambos searching for species like Chaplin's Barbet. Head back to the lodge around midday for lunch and rest, then continue birding in the afternoon. Enjoy a special farewell dinner, then update your bird log before bed.

Landmarks Nkanga Conservation Area - Day 5
Masuku Lodge to Monze to Lochinvar National Park
After early breakfast, drive north about 97.4 km to Monze on the T-1 road, passing through the toll plaza. Grab supplies at a local supermarket, then continue roughly 60 km to Lochinvar National Park. Go straight to Chunga Lagoon for your first birdwatching session. Walk along the Chunga Riverline toward fish camps for waterbird viewing. Return to Monze late in the afternoon and check into a lodge.

- Day 6
Monze to Mazabuka to Lusaka to Fringilla Farm Lodge
Wake very early and head out from Monze, traveling through Southern, Lusaka, and Central provinces. Drive through sugar plantations near Mazabuka (about 72 km away), known as Zambia's 'Sweetest Town'. Stop in Lusaka for lunch, then continue about 51 km to Fringilla Farm Lodge in Chisamba. After lunch there, do some relaxed bird walks around the environmentally friendly forest surrounding the farm.

Fringilla Farm Lodge to Forest Inn Lodge
Leave early from Fringilla Farm Lodge heading toward Kasanka National Park. Stop in Kabwe for breakfast at a local café, then continue toward Serenje district. Arrive at Forest Inn Lodge in the afternoon, a wooded camping area with clean rooms and mosquito nets, surrounded by huge trees full of birds. Take relaxed bird walks around the lodge later, then have dinner and update your log.

Forest Inn Lodge
Spend the full day birdwatching around Forest Inn and the Miombo Forests. After breakfast, head out early to spot Red-throated birds, Miombo Sunbird, Twinspot, Weaver and Bee-eaters. Return at midday for lunch and a one-hour rest, then continue birding in the afternoon. Get back by evening, refresh, have dinner, and update your bird log with the day's sightings.

Forest Inn Lodge to Kasanka National Park
Say goodbye to Forest Inn and head to Kasanka National Park, arguably Zambia's best birding location. Arrive at Luwombwa Camp. If time allows, do some relaxed birding down the Luwombwa River where you might spot African Finfoot, Pel's Fishing Owl, Half-Collared Kingfisher, Böhm's Bee-eater, African Green Pigeon, and Western Banded Snake-Eagle. The park has elusive Sitatunga antelope, dry miombo, mushitu forests and papyrus swamps.

- Day 10
Kasanka National Park
Spend a full day birdwatching and game viewing in Kasanka. Start early and do full day birding around Luwombwa Camp and other areas, hoping to spot the elusive Sitatunga antelope. Head to Wasa Lake for Cabanis Bunting, Pale-Billed Hornbill, African Pygmy Goose and various waterbirds. Look for Miombo specialties and Narina Trogon along the river. Return to camp, have dinner and reflect on sightings by the fire.

- Day 11
Kasanka National Park to Shoebill Island Camp
This is your big day. After breakfast, head to the airstrip near Wasa Camp and board a chartered plane to fly to Shoebill Island Camp in the Bangweulu wetlands. Land at Chimbwi airstrip, just 1 km from camp. Shoebill Island has four walk-in safari tents on raised platforms overlooking the floodplain. In the afternoon, drive to see thousands of Black Lechwe, Tsessebe, Buffalo, endangered Wattled Cranes, and Saddlebilled Storks.

Shoebill Island Camp
Today is all about spotting the Shoebill Stork, one of Africa's most sought-after birds. Your guide will work to get you close while minimizing disturbance, though sightings aren't guaranteed since the bird is shy. You'll also look for Eurasian Bittern, Great Snipe, Pallid Harrier, Pink-Backed and Great White Pelicans. The floodplain has Denham's Bustard, Collared Pratincoles, Grey Crowned Cranes, and Rosy-throated Longclaw. Return for refreshments and floodplain views.

Landmarks Bangweulu Wetlands - Day 13
Shoebill Island Camp to Kasanka National Park to Kapishya Hotsprings to Mutinondo Wilderness
After flying back to Kasanka, head straight to Kaphishya Hotsprings. Walk and drive around the hotsprings to reach rich birding areas. Have lunch at Kaphishya, then head to Mutinondo Wilderness, an Important Bird Area with 362 bird species recorded. Depending on when you arrive, your guide will decide on the evening schedule.

Mutinondo Wilderness
Wake early and have breakfast before starting morning birdwatching around Mutinondo Wilderness. Your guide will lead you to the best spots. Search for Bocage's Akalat, Anchieta's Sunbird, Bar-winged Weaver, Whyte's Barbet and Grey-Olive Greenbul. Return to the lodge in the afternoon to rest and update your bird log. Enjoy a nice dinner and retire for the evening.

Mutinondo Wilderness to Lusaka
After breakfast, board your vehicle and head back to Lusaka, arriving toward evening. A special farewell dinner happens at your lodge or campsite to celebrate finishing your 15-day birding trip. You'll get to make new friends and connect with other bird conservation enthusiasts. There's an optional vote of thanks from participants before everyone heads to bed.
