If trekking is not your preference, horses are available as an alternative. The trekking duration to Fairy Meadows is 3 hours, and from Fairy Meadows to Nanga Parbat Base Camp is 5-6 hours return. We have hosted guests over 70 years old on this trip, so you are good to go. The average daily driving time is around two hours, and all road journeys are scenic, passing through what is often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world, so you will hardly feel the distances at all. The only longer drive is the spectacular road journey to Khunjerab Pass, the world's highest border crossing connecting Pakistan with China. This drive takes approximately 5–6 hours, but it is truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, offering some of the most breathtaking views along the way. You will have several stops on the way to experience the Natural beauty of the Hunza valley. Please note that the Khunjerab Pass excursion is optional for guests who prefer to avoid longer road journeys. If you choose to skip this trip, your guide will arrange an alternative tour in Upper Hunza for the day.

I did the Rakaposhi basecamp and Nanga Parbat basecamp trek . Both short treks were amazing . The Karakoram Highway ride to the Khunjerab pass was also spectacular. The driver/guide Rachid was a nice easygoing guy . Despite having a negative travel advice , i didn't feel unsafe in the north of Pakistan . On the contrary , I felt safer than in other Asian countries and most Latin American countries I've visited . Also the people in North Pakistan are very friendly. If you are looking for adventure , spectacular roadtrip and scenery , high mountains , glaciars , beautiful hikes and treks : look no further . Our guide, Rashid offered incredible insight to the country, the region and its people and I genuinely enjoyed the time with him. Exploria and Ajmal were great to work with seeing me through my bumpy arrival (the border shut the day I was to cross from India). The tour itself I found to be a good mix of relaxation and adventure. Every hotel we stayed at was brilliant. Asif (guide) is an asset to your organisation, his mannerism and demeanour were professional yet friendly. He made the entire trip memorable with his knowledge and skills. As a well travelled family, this is by far our favourite and most memorable trip. It was brilliantly organised and delivered. I can wholeheartedly say we are struggling to come up with our top 10 moments as there are so many lovely moments to choose from. Particularly, we absolutely loved and cherished the trip to Fairymeadows. There are so many memories we made and unbelievable moments we experienced, such as stargazing on the first night, the view of Nangaparpat in the morning, the hike to basecamp, the horse rides, and hikes.
