Except for the hotel in Bangkok, good balance of sites to visit, activities, transportation, good hotels. Bike is an excellent way of visiting Sukhotai, and excellent cooking class there. Very good guide. English needs improvement but she is working hard. The hotel in Bangkok is far from everything no restaurant close by except a couple of Western ones, no public transportation, no time really to enjoy the facilities and no alternative but dinner in the restaurant which is always expensive. So this needs to be changed.Show more

Our tour leader Tuk was excellent in coordinating the details of the trip and its many experiences. She always took the time to explain the significance of the many customs as well as the history of Thailand. The pace of the trip was excellent with a reasonable amount of time given to the needed rest stops at intervals throughout the travel. We liked the great variety of experiences offered on this trip which included a top notch cooking class, long boat rides on the canals of Bangkok, and Sukothai night market. The visit to the Elephant preserve was a highlight since you were able to get up close to see them. We would recommend this trip as part of the immersion into the unique history of Thailand.Show more

The palace was closed because the king was in town (Intrepid should have known this and we did not get to see the palace) and the traffic getting out of Bangkok was very bad. It took 4 hours to go 78 miles. After that, the tour was as expected and very good.Show more

Having travelled with Intrepid on ""Beautiful Northern Thailand"", ""Best of Central Europe"" and ""Everest Base Camp"" I really had greater expectations in terms of culture, level of activity and enthusiasm. I enjoyed the cooking class in Chiang Mai but felt we could have been giving a few more ideas of places to go (general motivation/ enthusiasm from the guide) in Chiang Mai. I thought the Hmong Cultural show at the Hmong lodge was OK. I don’t believe we “Make some new pachyderm pals at the unique Friends of the Asia Elephants Hospital” and several member of the group felt the visit was underwhelming.I’m sure they do great work but we were along way from the animals and relied on our guides knowledge. I felt our leisurely cycle around Sukhothai was far too short at just about 2 hrs.I would have spent most if not all of the day there or at least have been given that option.It was a long drive to Sukhothai for what felt like a relatively short time. .Show more

For tours departing after May 14th, 2026, a minimum payment of $400 is required to confirm your booking with Intrepid Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
