Itinerary
- Day 1
Guwahati to Tezpur
The day starts early with a 7:15am pickup from your hotel in Guwahati and check-in at your tour accommodation. You'll have breakfast before heading out to see Kamakhya Devi Temple and ISKON Temple. After that, you'll walk through the crowded Fancy Bazaar and Panbazaar markets to get a feel for local commerce and culture. Lunch happens at a restaurant in the city. Then it's a 4-hour drive to Tezpur where you'll have dinner and settle in for the night.

Tezpur to Dirang
Starting after breakfast, you're looking at a four-hour drive toward Dirang with a stop in Bomdila along the way, which involves a steep climb. The road takes you through some of India's densest forests, and you'll notice the landscape really changes as you head higher. Once you reach Dirang, you can see what the local tribal communities live like, check out the apple orchards scattered around, and there are sheep breeding farms to visit too. Hot springs are also in the area if you're interested. Dinner and overnight happen at your hotel.

Landmarks Bomdila Dirang Valley - Day 3
Dirang to Tawang
After breakfast, you'll drive toward Tawang following the Dirang River for about 2 hours before hitting Sela Pass at 14,000 feet/4,267 meters. The downhill views from the pass are something else. You'll check into your hotel, then in the afternoon head to the Gompa, a 300-year-old Buddhist monastery that's considered the second most important one after Lhasa in Tibet. It's worth spending time there. Evening includes dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

Tawang
You'll drive uphill after breakfast to see Pangong Tang Tso Lake and spend some time there. The afternoon is left open so you can walk around town at your own pace and do whatever interests you. Dinner and overnight are at your hotel.

Tawang to Dirang
This morning starts the return journey to Dirang, which covers 195 km. Along the way, you'll stop at villages to interact with local tribal people dressed in their colorful traditional clothing. These stops give you a real sense of how communities live in this region. By evening you're back in Dirang for dinner and overnight.

Dirang to Tezpur
After breakfast, you'll drive from Dirang to Tezpur. Once there, you'll visit a tea garden where they'll show you how tea gets processed from leaf to cup. It's an interesting look at one of the region's main industries. Dinner and overnight happen at your hotel in Tezpur.

Tezpur to Majuli
A 5-hour drive takes you to Majuli following breakfast, which is the largest freshwater mid-river island and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll take a ferry across to reach it. That evening there's a walking tour of the island so you can start getting familiar with the place. Dinner and overnight are at your hotel on Majuli.

Majuli

Majuli
Following breakfast, you'll walk through the villages on the island. There's a visit to a low-cost school where you'll meet children and hand out fruit that the tour operator provides for this purpose. The kids will be excited to interact with you. You'll have a meal there too. Overnight is back at your hotel.

Majuli to Jorhat

Jorhat to Airport
