  Any way to by pass it, join the group at the arrival point even. The steep up and down might a bit too much. Other wise want to do all the local housing and food stuff.

    Based on the itinerary and the route that is used skipping Day 7 on the itinerary is not possible. The Hill tribe trek is a 3 day trek that the group does and vehicles are not permitted on these paths so there will be no way for a support van to pick you up or drop you off mid trek.

  how many kilometres are we walking every day during the Hilltribe trek? what kind of terrain are we walking on? (mountain, jungle, dirt road, asphalt road?) approximately what temperatures should I expect during the trek? Apart from the hilltribe trek, will there be opportunity/time for other hiking trips?

    Trekking Details: Day 10: Approx. 2 hours / 4 km, through hilly countryside. Day 11: Approx. 5 hours / 10.5 km, with some shallow river crossings possible. Day 12: Approx. 2.5 hours / 6.5 km, finishing in Ruammit Village before transferring to Chiang Rai. The terrain is rural rather than jungle — mainly village tracks where the hilltribes grow rice and vegetables on the slopes. Conditions can be hot and humid, and while the distances aren't extreme, the walks can feel demanding. Moderate fitness is recommended, and a bit of preparation (walking, jogging, cycling, swimming) before travel will really help you enjoy the trek to the fullest. Outside the trek, the itinerary is quite full, so there isn't much extra time for additional hikes. However, you'll enjoy plenty of walking and exploring within the scheduled activities.

  Is it possible to start this tour on 10th October? OR is it possible to meet the tour in Chiang Mai? It's just we have booked flights to Siem Reap arriving 6th October and are staying 3 nights. Really want to do this tour but we have already committed to Siem Reap.

  How far are the treks on days 10, 11 and 12, and is it just a day bag we need to take for that (i.e. our luggage is taken separately)?

    On Days 10, 11, and 12, the trek distances are as follows: Day 10: Approximately 4 km, Day 11: Approximately 10.5 km, Day 12: Approximately 6.5 km. During the trek, we leave our main piece of luggage at the guesthouse and collect it at the end of the trek. You will need to bring along a comfortable overnight pack (about 30-35 litres/8-9 gallons) for trekking. Most trek equipment can be rented in Chiang Mai before the start of the trek. Backpack, roll mat, sleep bag, re-hydration salts and water bottle holder will cost approximately US$25 for the three days.

    Do we need a complete sleeping kit for the hike? I understand the need for a sleeping bag. Does the accomodation not have mattresses, hence needing roll mats etc which we'd have to carry with us?

    You will need a complete sleeping kit for the hike. However, to avoid carrying excess luggage, most trek equipment can be rented in Chiang Mai before the start of the trek. Backpack, roll mat, sleep bag, re-hydration salts and water bottle holder will cost approximately US$25 for the three days.

  How many hours a day are the walks? How difficult are they? a lot of climbing uphill or relatively flat? How much do we need to carry in our backpacks on those walks?

    The Hilltribe village trek duration will be as below, Day 10 - approximately 2 hours or 4 km. Day 11 - approximately 5 hours or 10.5 km. Day 12 - approximately 2.5 hours to 6.5 km. The hike will include trekking across hilly countryside, and rain or hot, humid weather can pose extra challenges. You'll need to be moderately fit to enjoy all activities. The terrain is rural rather than jungle – the hilltribes grow rice and other vegetables on the slopes – and you'll trek along village tracks. There's also the possibility of some shallow river crossings. Each traveler carries their own pack for the whole trek – please see the 'What To Take' section of the Essential Trip Information for luggage requirements. All meals are included while trekking, but you'll need to purchase and carry your own water (please allow approximately USD 10 to cover your water purchase for the trek).

  would be nice to join up with more than another person of the same sex. Is there a way to join a small group? Preferably has a female in it. I have worked in all male jobs all my life I dont want a male isolated experiences anymore.
