  Since the company support could not offer any satisfactory resolution and I've been completely ignored by the CEO - here's my experience with TourRadar. As a 74-year-old woman, I had heard about the prevalence of violent crime in Brazil, so I opted for a group tour to prioritize my safety. After declining a private tour offer from another company, I booked a 9-day group tour with TourRadar from September 26th to October 4th, 2024, paying 3,144.63 Euros. On the 26th, two young men claiming to be TourRadar representatives arrived to pick me up, but they informed me that I would be on a private tour, contrary to my booking. I asked them please call me when you arrange a group tour as soon as possible since I will be in a hotel lobby waiting. While I was waiting for 4 hours, I called my bank and found out that TourRadar charged my credit card in full. Meanwhile, they kept texting me every few days that they were investigating and will be in touch. I had to spend thousand of Euros more since I had to pay for the hotels and the flights which would be included in the group tour. I had been in excellent health, with three COVID vaccinations and no illnesses in ten years. This trip was my first vacation in four years. Instead of enjoying Brazil, I experienced immense stress and frustration as I scrambled to find alternative last minute travel plans which was impossible. TourRadar's negligence and lack of transparency have not only ruined my vacation but also compromised my health. I have been unwell since September 27th. TourRadar's refusal to give me a refund, despite my clear booking for a group tour and the fact that I never participated in the tour, is unacceptable. I have reported this incident to the Brazilian and Berlin police for fraudulent activity to prevent others from falling victim to such deceitful practices.Show more

However, we must clarify that the travel package you booked through TourRadar was clearly described as a private land tour, with no airfare or group service included. This information was available on the product page, reiterated during our communication, and confirmed by you before purchase. We also accommodated your request to begin the tour earlier than originally planned. Our team received you in Rio de Janeiro on September 25th and provided the first night’s accommodation, as scheduled. On September 26th, you declined to continue with the program during the private city tour—despite having been informed and having agreed to the private format—and returned to your hotel before check-in, refusing the continuation of the service. We understand that this trip was important to you, and we are truly sorry that the format did not meet your expectations. Still, we acted in good faith at all times, fulfilling our contractual obligations and offering support even after your refusal to continue. We also clarify that your accusation of fraud is unjustified. The package was delivered as agreed until the point you chose to abandon it. According to industry standards and the cancellation policy you accepted upon purchase, no refunds are issued once a package has started. This aligns with both Brazilian regulations and international travel guidelines. We remain available to continue a respectful and transparent dialogue, should you wish to resolve the matter amicably.   We had a blast and all of our tours, drivers, and tour guides were great! A truly unforgettable trip for a family of four (including 9 and 11yo). It all went off without a hitch and we have made some lasting memories. It was a great itinerary giving us ample time to see what we wanted to in Rio, and explore the Amazon without feeling overly rushed and still able to check all the boxes for the highlights! Highly recommend for any traveler looking for some education and adventure.Show more
