Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Dades Gorges
You'll leave your hotel and drive through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass in the Atlas Mountains, making a stop around 10:00 AM in Ait Barka Village for breakfast and photos. The route takes you climbing higher to the Atlas Mountains' highest point where you'll have another chance to take pictures. After that, you head to Ait Ben Hadou, a UNESCO heritage site, with a local guide showing you around. You get about an hour free for lunch before continuing through the rose valley and Skoura Palm Grove. By evening you'll reach Dades valley and the gorges, where you spend your first night in a traditional Moroccan hotel. Temperature around 68°F/20°C in the mountains, warmer during the day.

- Day 2
Dades Gorges to Merzouga Sahara Desert
After having a traditional Moroccan breakfast at your hotel, you depart at 8:00 AM and travel through the road of 1000 kasbahs, passing through colorful Berber villages in Dades valley. You'll reach Tineghir, which is known for its palm groves and the old Jewish quarter, then continue to Todra Gorges. There you get free time to trek along the canyons, which rise about 300m high. Following lunch, you head toward Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Sahara desert. The highlight is a 1 hour 30 minute camel ride at sunset to reach the bivouac camp. At night you stay in nomadic tents with the option to sleep outside under the stars and spend time playing drums with the camel drivers. Temperature drops to around 50°F/10°C after sunset.

- Day 3
Merzouga Sahara Desert to Marrakech
Rise early to catch the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes, then have a traditional breakfast back at the bivouac. You'll ride camels again to meet your driver and start the return journey to Marrakech, heading through Rissani, Tineghir, and back via Dades valley with free time for lunch somewhere along the way. The drive takes you across the Tizi N'Tichka pass and through Berber villages between Ouarzazate and Marrakech. By the end of the day you're back in Marrakech, completing your desert trip. Temperature will warm up to around 72°F/22°C as you descend from higher elevations.
