Unfortunately if you're a true 'Stokie' it was the done thing to stay at the campsite getting blackout drunk with other Aussies. The staff were apathetic at best and more interested in each other than the needs of the paying guests. You'll have a much better time if you get a hotel room with a group of friends, immerse yourself with the locals and the culture and make your own way up to the battle on the hill.Show more

The Stoke campsite is within walking distance to the street parties, which go all night, and it has a pool! We partied with the locals and got an authentic Spanish Fiesta experience. The festival itself was incredible! Stoke has buses going right up to the where the Wine Fight begins and then you can spend as long as you like there.
