Overall it was a good trip. We were a bit overcharged for a transfer to Durres. The company charged us 40$, but we paid 25-30 with a taxi from Durres to Tirana. We stayed in 3 different hotels in Tirana. They were all okay. The Garden Boutique made us sign a paper stating we would follow their rules and assured us that was “totally normal”. The biggest misadventure was our guide telling us our tour ended a day before everyone else on the tour. The tour we booked was a day shorter somehow than the rest of the people on the tour. This was a surprise. The tour included a lot of visits to castles on mountaintops. Maybe it could be diversified to include a wine/pomegranate tasting and a water excursion. Our guide was great. He focused a lot on before and after communism. The trip was organized, the guide did his best to take care of everyone and Albania is a beautiful country.Show more

  I am currently waiting for another tour to confirm; I will probably know by Friday June 7. In case that does not confirm, what is the price of a private tour? In my experience, a private may cost more than what I budgeted, but I would like to know just in case it does not.
