One Life Adventures commented on this reviewThanks a lot for your review, Emily. We’re glad you loved the tour and we’d love to have you join us again on another adventure!Trip date: January 2026- HEHolly· January 22nd, 2026This Japan trip was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish. The itinerary offered a great balance of immersive cultural experiences with enough downtime to explore independently and recharge. Our guide, Daan, was exceptional. He is knowledgeable, calm, polite, and brings a genuine warmth and humour that made the experience feel relaxed and enjoyable from the very beginning. He went above and beyond to support everyone, including helping travellers organise additional activities outside the itinerary. When some of our group wanted to visit Nara, which wasn’t part of the tour, he provided clear, detailed instructions that made it easy and stress-free to do independently. The other travellers were also a huge highlight. It was a welcoming, likeminded group with a great mix of ages, all genuinely interested in cultural experiences rather than purely partying. The sense of connection within the group really elevated the entire trip. The itinerary itself was well paced, with a great balance of cultural immersion and downtime. Highlights included time in Kyoto and the unforgettable experience of seeing the snow monkeys in Nagano, both of which were standout moments of the trip. I genuinely enjoyed every element of this trip and the flexibly Daan allowed if a traveller chose to skip or replace an activity. It truly was the people who made this trip though, fellow travellers and our guide, who made this trip incredible. The sense of connection within the group really elevated the entire trip.Show more

Thomas· January 5th, 2026Enjoyed the experiences like sushi making and Kendo, but the options presented for free time weren't given any consideration e.g., all the onsen were closed on the day of (a Monday). Our guide, George, was lovely, and had fun stories.Show more
One Life Adventures commented on this reviewThank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed experiences like the sushi making and kendo, and that George helped make the trip enjoyable with his stories and support. At the same time, we’re sorry the free time options... Show moreTrip date: January 2026- RRebecca· January 5th, 2026This tour was a fantastic way to see many places in Japan. Spending New Years in Kyoto was magical. We had George as our tour guide. He was personable, friendly, knowledgeable and used humour to make things more interesting. Even though he had never done a Winter tour before he had done his research and when unsure sought the information we wanted. I did find there was a lot of down time on this tour which was both good and bad. Good because you can wander and explore things that interest you. Bad because you had to find things to fill that time. George did always give us recommendations for things to do and places to eat. He even included vegetarian and vegan food options which helped me as I don’t eat meat. There was ALOT of walking and it was definitely not for anyone who has less than moderate fitness. I would even say some days you needed high fitness to keep up with the group and get to certain places. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and thought George was an exceptional tour guide. Thanks for the fun!Show more

Asked on December 19th, 2025What does shared room mean? I would be traveling alone and would not like to be with someone I do not know
One Life AdventuresOperator•Written December 2025Shared room means you will be sharing with someone else, either in a twin room, twin/triple mat room. All accommodation is listed on the main page and you can see an image to show the type of accommodation. As part of our rooming arrangements you would only be sharing with someone of the same gender.

Traveler•Written December 2025Can you confirm the dates for February
One Life AdventuresOperator•Written December 2025For South Korea the first tours will start on 27th March, 2026. If you are looking for a tour in February, that would be Japan, but would not have a Single Private Room. If you are looking for a tour in February with a Single Room, I would advise on Sri Lanka and Philippines. These would be subject to availability.

Asked on October 28th, 2024Will I get pick up at the airport? If yes, what time will I get pick up?
One Life AdventuresOperator•Written October 2024Our Japanese itineraries do not include an airport pick up due to logistical reasons on the ground, however the train is bookable from the airport using the English language kiosks, to Nippori station which is a 2 min walk from the Sakura Hotel. You will receive detailed instructions for this journey in your welcome pack that is sent out 30 days prior to the tour commencing.

Asked on October 26th, 2024Would like to travel with my 18 and 20 years old children, but I am 51. Am I allowed to come along, as I am over 45?
One Life AdventuresOperator•Written October 2024We have set a recommended age range of 18-45 as we see most our bookings come from travellers between the age of 21-35. As long as you are comfortable with this we would absolutely love to have all 3 of you on board. I have checked our demographics for this departure date and we do in fact have a few travellers that will be in their 40s.
