  The hotels were well chosen and we particularly enjoyed the cruise from Luxor to Aswan. The buffet was excellent and the cabins were very nice. Initially there was a misunderstanding about the prices for the entrance fees to the museums. These were not listed separately in the description under "what is excluded". The quality of the guides varied, but Amir in the Valley of the Kings was particularly great, we learned so much about the life of the pharaohs. The temple at Luxor should really only be visited in the evening when it is beautifully illuminated. In Cairo we had a wonderful driver, Mahmoud. It was a shame that we didn't have a direct flight from Aswan to Sharm El Sheik and therefore had to spend almost a day at the airport in Cairo. This was possibly due to the fact that Ramadan was on at the same time. As a European, you should take this into account when booking, as the museums only had shortened opening hours because of this. because of this. It is also important to note that you can only pay by debit card at all museums. Nevertheless, it is advisable to change enough money at the airport. The conversion into dollars is otherwise too expensive. Conclusion: we saw many interesting sights and enjoyed the trip.Show more

  16 Day Egypt and Nile Cruise Tour Tour was quite good. Ancient Egypt Tours had everything arranged nicely. Our 2 main guides were excellent in Cairo (Amr)and in Luxor and on the river cruise (Mohammed). Both were very knowledgeable and keen to share with us and to cater to our wishes (usually to cut things a bit short). All arrangements with the drivers were 100% - on time and he/they knew the route and destinations well. Although we were prepared for it we had to buy tickets for all the attractions (museums, temples, etc.). The guide usually had a way to bypass long lines, so everything worked very well. The river cruise ship (Coral 2) was ok. Everything worked but is well used and is in need of a major refurbishment. Sharma El Sheikh is a nice resort – especially if you have children. Beach is nice but no real swimming -too shallow then a coral reef, then a big deep drop off. Several good pools, lots of chairs and umbrellas. While everything did work well, Ancient Egypt Tours seemed reluctant to share travel details at the beginning and for the last few days– what hotel, where/when to meet driver, etc.Show more

  15 Days of Awesomeness! I went on the 15 Day Highlights of Egypt with Ancient Egypt Tours through Tour Radar. I didn't really know what to expect and hope to make it easier for others to decide by explaining how it works. Its not a traditional tour with a small group staying together moved along by a staff member who stays with you the whole time. Rather, you move on your own facilitated by the drivers and guides at each location at the direction of the Ancient Egypt Tours staff, who you can reach via email, text, or phone (at the hotel where you get wifi). Its not a luxury tour with lots pampering and staff members everywhere, that should be obvious from the price tag, yet some reviewers seem to have been expecting that. There is a slight adjustment period at first, but if you don't panic or have unrealistic expectations everything will be fine! Salwa and her staff are there to insure you have a good time. Once you get going, you will be moved along from one incredible sight to another, as Egypt has a huge number of magnificent relics, museums, and monuments. There is so much to see in Egypt that I suggest the longer tours (15 days is good) if you have time. You may be transported by shuttles, taxis, planes, or best of all, river cruises down the Nile! All meals are provided for and the food is great, especially the many buffets. The tour operator is of course not your main concern, its only there to facilitate your trip. Yet that is what these reviews are for, to make sure you enjoy your trip. I would highly recommend Ancient Egypt Tours (and Tour Radar), just understand what it is, and what it is not!Show more
