Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Lima
Your flight touches down in Lima and you're met by your guide for a private transfer to Miraflores, the beachfront district overlooking the Pacific. The drive takes about an hour, giving you time to settle into your hotel. Afterward, you've got the rest of the day free to walk around, grab dinner, or just rest after traveling.

Lima to Cusco
After breakfast, you head to Lima airport with your guide and catch a flight to Cusco, the historic Inca capital sitting high in the mountains. Once you arrive and get to your hotel, lunch is on your own schedule. The afternoon fills up quickly with a walk through Plaza de Armas to see the Twelve-Angle Stone and other Inca stonework, the Pre-Columbian Art Museum, Qoricancha Temple and Santo Domingo Monastery next to it, and the energetic San Pedro market. Later on, you'll learn how to make a Pisco Sour at a local bar, trying Peru's national cocktail firsthand.

- Day 3
Sacred Valley
You head out to the Sacred Valley to check out Moray's circular agricultural terraces and the salt ponds at Maras, where water channels through white terraced pools. Lunch happens in Urubamba, and then you continue to Ollantaytambo, an Inca fortress built on a hillside that managed to resist Spanish forces. Later this evening, a train takes you down to Aguas Calientes, arriving after about 1 hour 40 minutes.

- Day 4
Machu Picchu
An early bus ride from Aguas Calientes gets you to Machu Picchu, the Inca site perched between mountain peaks. Your guide walks you through the different sections for around 2 hours, pointing out how the Incas engineered this place without modern tools. After exploring, you take the bus back to town, then catch the train to Ollantaytambo and another bus to Cusco, pulling in at your hotel as evening falls.

- Day 5
Palccoyo (Rainbow Mountain)
This day starts in Checacupe to see the 17th-century colonial church and the historical bridge, plus an Inca bridge made from woven plant rope. From there, you drive to Palccoyo valley for a less crowded view of the multicolored mountain. A 1-hour hike gets you to the viewpoint where you spend an hour taking in the striped mountain and the red valley beneath it. The return journey to Cusco takes about 3 hours each way, so it's a full but worthwhile day.

Cusco to Amazon Lodge
Your guide picks you up for the drive to Cusco airport, where a 40-minute flight takes you into Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon rainforest. From there, you board a motorized boat and watch for wildlife like capybaras, caimans, and water birds along the Madre de Dios Stream. At the lodge, you settle into your bungalow, have lunch, then take a guided walk to Caiman Cocha lake where black and white caimans hang out. The day ends watching the sun drop behind the jungle canopy.

- Day 7
Amazon Jungle Exploration
After breakfast, you hike through rainforest to Lake Sandoval, navigating the lush trail to reach mangrove-lined water full of bird species. A rowboat lets you explore the lake itself, perfect if you like bird watching. Later in the afternoon, a quick 5-minute boat ride takes you to Monkey Island where you'll see spider monkeys, howlers, sloths, and other wildlife. You finish the day with a jungle sunset from the island.

You have one last breakfast surrounded by jungle sounds, then get transferred back to Puerto Maldonado for your 1 hour 45-minute flight to Lima. You arrive in the afternoon and your trip concludes.
