  • Wonderful Peruvian South, Private Tour reviewer 1
    · January 11th, 2026
Our two weeks experience in Peru wasn’t exactly what we were expecting. While there were some iconic landmarks that we really wanted to visit like Machu Pichu, the Nazca Lines or the floating islands on Titicaca, the rest of the itinerary was quite unimpressive. Extremely long bus rides to go through the desert, very early wake ups (often unnecessary and only to be brought back to an hotel after a couple of hours visit), unfortunately undermined our enjoyment. We were expecting a small group holiday but as a matter of fact the holiday is arranged per booking, so you get picked up from your hotel and taken to the activity place of the day, which is the only opportunity to socialise with other travellers, however you may not see them again during the trip. For us the worst disappointment was having paid for the 4+ star hotels but eventually being put in hotels in the middle of nowhere which were definitely under any standard. We had a 3 star hotel in Cusco with a room with only a roof light so small we couldn’t even open our luggage, a room with a moldy bathroom and lots of mosquitos in Colca. Another bad point was the lack of communication from Lima Tour, who were supposed to send tickets and itinerary for the next day every morning. They did for the first two days, then they stopped and so often we had to get involved ourselves and swap numbers with the local guides to be able to retrieve our tickets for trains and attractions from the main office. On the positive the local guides where all excellent and helpful, and were always able to eventually solve the problem we had. We loved our visit to Peru, however I would not recommend booking this itinerary with Lima Tour
