Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Essaouira
Head out early from Marrakech for the drive to Essaouira, a coastal town on the Atlantic that you'll reach in a couple of hours. Once there, walk through the medina and check out the Portuguese ramparts that give the old town its character. You'll find local artisans working with thuja wood and silver here, so there's plenty to see if you're interested in crafts. The beach stretches out with golden sand and you'll notice windsurfers taking advantage of the wind and waves. By midday or early afternoon, grab some fresh grilled seafood at the port, where the catch is literally unloaded from boats. Afterward, you'll have time to wander the beaches or pick up any last-minute items before heading back to Marrakech for the evening drive.
