Informative and comprehensive city tour of Delhi on the day prior to heading to Amritsar by punctual, comfortable express air-conditioned train on which an adequate breakfast including an omelette and lunch (chicken curry) were served. Met by driver at Amritsar Railway Station and later that afternoon experienced the pomp, ceremony and fervour of the Beating Retreat ceremony at Wagah border (between India and Pakistan). An exceptional tour of the Golden Temple followed the next day which not only included the visual spectacle of the temple but also an detailed tour of the community kitchen which serves between 50000 - 100,000 free meals to those in need on a daily basis. The hill station of Dharamshala was a pleasant change to the routine hustle and bustle of India in general. The current home of the Dalai Lama and home to ~100000 exiled Tibetans. The visit to the Tsuglagkhank Complex, Tibetan Museum and the Sikh Museum were extremely informative and educational. A visit to Kanga fort, built by the Moghul dynasties in 9th-10th centuries A.D. is steeped in history and provided a fascinating insight to life at the time. Shimla was also relaxed. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 40 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
