Itinerary
- Day 1
Dar es Salaam to Mikumi
You'll land at Jnia and meet up with your Lonely Site Tours & Safari team for a briefing about Dar es Salaam. From there, you'll drive to Mikumi Park, grab lunch when you arrive, and settle into your accommodation. Later in the day, head out to a Maasai village to watch traditional dances and learn about their culture before heading back to camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Mikumi
Start early at 6:00 AM for a game drive through Mikumi National Park. You'll be looking for lions, elephants, buffalo, and leopards (rhinos aren't in this area), though you're more likely to spot elands, topis, wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes. Midday you'll have a picnic lunch under a baobab tree. The afternoon brings another game drive to the hippo pool where crocodiles hang out too. By evening you can either head back to Dar es Salaam for dinner and overnight, or stay in Mikumi.

- Day 3
Mikumi to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast, you'll drive back toward Dar es Salaam. Stop at Makumbusho Village Museum to walk through traditional Tanzanian structures like straw and thatched houses showing how people lived more than 50 years ago. The museum covers Dar es Salaam's past, starting as a small fishing village called Mzizima (meaning healthy town) back in 1857 and its growth into a major port and trading hub. You'll spend roughly an hour there, then get dropped at your hotel.
