  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Kathmandu

    Your representative meets you at the airport and drives you toward Thamel, passing by Pashupatinath Temple, the Royal Palace Museum, and Garden of Dreams along the way. Once you reach your downtown hotel, you'll get a briefing on what's ahead for your trip. After settling in, you'll have time to wander around Thamel's streets and get oriented to the neighborhood.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu

    This day focuses on Kathmandu's main sights. You'll head to Kathmandu Durbar Square to see the ancient wood-carved temples, then check out local markets like Ashan and Indrachok where you can try traditional Nepali snacks including Lassi and Samosa. Later you'll go to Swaymbhunath (Monkey Temple) for views across the city and toward the Himalayas. After that, you'll visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the world's largest stupas, and nearby Kopan Monastery. Your evening takes you to Pashupatinath Temple to see the evening Aarati ceremony and observe sacred rituals along the Bagmati River.

  3. Day 3

    Patan - Nagarkot

    After breakfast, you'll spend the day on a guided tour starting in Kirtipur, an ancient city about 8 kilometers southwest of Kathmandu. You'll walk through Aadinath Temple, Chilamcho Stupa, Bagh Bhairav Temple, Uma Maheshwar Temple, and Shri Kirti Bihara monastery. From there, you head to Patan to visit Krishna Temple and Patan Durbar Square (UNESCO World Heritage Site), then check out the Patan Museum, the Golden Temple, and Banglamukhi Temple. In the afternoon, you'll drive to Nagarkot hill station to catch sunset views overlooking Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayan ranges.

  4. Day 4

    Bhaktapur - Kathmandu

    You'll wake early to watch sunrise over the Himalayas and clouds from Nagarkot, and on clear days you might see 8 or more mountain ranges including Mt. Everest. Later you'll drive to Bhaktapur to see its well-preserved ancient architecture and historic wooden buildings. You'll visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and see the Nyatopola Temple, one of Nepal's largest temples. By afternoon you'll head back to your Kathmandu hotel to rest and reflect on what you've seen.

  5. Day 5

    Kathmandu to Chitwan

    You'll travel southwest from Kathmandu to Chitwan, covering about 175 kilometers. Along the way you stop at Jalbire Waterfall, which drops about 95 meters, for a refreshing break. As you get closer to Chitwan, the hills give way to dense forests. Once you arrive, you'll check into your hotel and rest a bit. Later you can take a leisurely walk through the local market and streets to soak up the atmosphere. By evening you'll watch a Tharu cultural program show before heading back to rest.

  6. Day 6

    Chitwan National Park

    Today is all about Chitwan National Park, Nepal's first national park and known for wildlife viewing. You'll start with a jeep safari through the community forest section where you might spot one-horned rhinos, wild boar, deer, leopard, and royal Bengal tiger in areas with 5 to 6 feet tall bushes. You could also see wild elephants and other wildlife. After the safari you'll rest at your hotel. Later, you'll take a guided tour through a Tharu village and go on a canoe ride down the Rapti River where you can see Marsh Mugger and Gharial crocodiles on the riverbanks.

    Chitwan to Lumbini

    After breakfast you'll drive to Lumbini, which is about 5 hours from Chitwan. Lumbini holds huge significance as the birthplace of Lord Buddha and draws Buddhist pilgrims from around the world. In the afternoon you'll start exploring the sacred garden where you'll see the Ashoka Pillar, the small Pushkarini pond, the Maya Devi Temple, and remains of ancient monastic buildings. You'll also walk through the monastery zone with over 10 international monasteries, each with unique architecture representing different countries. Then you'll return to your hotel to rest.

    After breakfast you'll travel to Pokhara, which is 210 kilometers from Lumbini. Once you arrive you'll check into your hotel and rest for a bit. Later in the afternoon you can stroll along Pokhara's lakeside street to the banks of Phewa Lake, taking in the scenic mountain views and local atmosphere.

  9. Day 9

    Pokhara

    You'll wake up early around 5 a.m. and drive to Sarangkot Hill to watch the sunrise. Sarangkot offers peaceful, magical views before sunrise and you'll see the first light hit the mountains. You'll have panoramic views of Annapurna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, and other well-known mountains. Then you'll return to your hotel for breakfast. Later in the day your guided tour continues with visits to the International Mountain Museum, Tibetan Refugee Camp, Davis Fall, Gupteshower Cave, and the World Peace Stupa.

    Pokhara to Kathmandu

    After breakfast in Pokhara you'll drive back toward Kathmandu. On the way you'll stop in Bandipur, an ancient Newari town, to explore its historic character. Once you reach Kathmandu you'll head to your hotel to rest. In the evening you can explore the busy downtown area of Thamel.

    Departure from Kathmandu

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before April 10th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after April 10th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Asian Heritage Treks & Expeditions. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
