Itinerary
- Day 1
Kilimanjaro Airport to Moshi
You'll arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and get driven to your hotel in Moshi. Later in the afternoon, your guide meets with you to go over the trek details and what to expect on the mountain. Before the evening ends, take time to organize your gear and grab any last-minute items you might need, including extra bottled water.

Landmarks Kilimanjaro International Airport - Day 2
Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
Leave your extra bags at the hotel, then head out from Moshi around 08:30 heading toward Marangu Gate. After handling the park paperwork, you'll start hiking through rainforest thick with moss and lichens. The trail leads you gradually up to Mandara Hut at 9,000 feet where you'll sleep in mountain huts for the night.

- Day 3
Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
You'll trek toward Horombo Hut at 12,000 feet through lower heathland with small shrubs around. About halfway through, you'll stop for lunch where you can see across to Mawenzi. By around 15:00, you reach Horombo Hut and from here the Kibo summit comes into view for the first time.

- Day 4
Acclimatization at Horombo Hut
This is your acclimatization day at Horombo Huts, so you're staying put. If you're feeling good, take a walk up toward Zebra Rocks to help your body adjust to the altitude, then head back to rest at the hut for another night.

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
Pack up in the morning and start hiking back down the same route to Mandara Hut where you'll grab lunch. After eating, continue down to Marangu Park gate where your transport will be waiting around 14:00 to drive you back to Moshi.

Moshi to Kilimanjaro Airport
After breakfast at your hotel, you'll transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home.
