Can we customize this one a bit? We want to also see Ashok vatika temple, ravan Ella waterfall and extend one night in yalla park. We are Hindus so would like to cover some Hindu sites.

We are looking to travel to Sri Lanka in late January 2026 and would like to include one day of cricket in Kandy to watch England & Sri Lanka. Further, is this a tour that is available with 4 star accommodation?

Overall the tour was very good, however it was a bit of a shock to get there and find it was just the two of us as we thought booking a tour group there would be more people. Although our guide was very nice we didn’t feel he guided us. He did make an excellent suggestion to do an elephant safari which was amazing however he did fall short on communication to begin with, but was outstanding in stopping at the roadside to encourage us to try the local food and drinks. However when we went to the Stupa we felt that we needed more than just being dropped off with only half an hour till close.Show more

The only aspect that we were not pleased with was on the last two days where we were supposed to be staying at Hikkaduwa. Instead we stayed near Benton's some distance away and quite near Colombo. While the itinerary does say there maybe some changes, it cites a change in hotel, not a different region. We felt let down as we chose this particular tour for two aspects, one the train trip and two staying at Hikkaduwa.Show more

Not expensive. Overall a delightful place. Tour was so-so. Most hotels had intermittent WiFi (at best), one hotel had a bathroom that left standing water on the floor, heaters were needed, but you had to know to ask for a portable heater, no hot water at one, food was so-so.. bread was uniformly bad,- such a surprise after India, where many kinds of bread are delicious. Driver/guide was engaged and helpful. Good because we had not realized that it was a private tour, but he was not as knowledgeable as a regular guide.Show more

My trip to Sri Lanka was nothing short of unforgettable — a perfect blend of adventure, culture, wildlife, and pure relaxation. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by how warm and welcoming everyone was. The hospitality felt genuine everywhere I went, whether I was wandering through busy towns or quiet villages. The food alone made the journey worthwhile — fragrant curries, fresh seafood, coconut sambal, and the famous rice and curry spreads that somehow tasted different (and delicious) every single time. One of the highlights of the trip was exploring the cultural heart of the country. Visiting the ancient rock fortress of Sigiriya was an incredible experience. Climbing to the top in the early morning heat was challenging, but the panoramic views were absolutely worth it. I also loved wandering through the historic streets of Kandy, especially around the serene Temple of the Tooth, which had a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere that really stayed with me. The scenery throughout the country is breathtaking. The train journey from Kandy to Ella was easily one of the most beautiful rail trips I’ve ever taken. Rolling tea plantations, misty mountains, and endless greenery made it feel like something out of a postcard. Standing near the famous Nine Arch Bridge while a train slowly rolled across was a simple but magical moment. I also spent time along the southern coast, where golden beaches and swaying palm trees created the perfect setting to unwind. Watching sea turtles at sunset and swimming in the warm Indian Ocean felt surreal. The slower pace of life by the coast was exactly what I needed. Wildlife was another unforgettable part of the experience. A safari in Yala National Park gave me the chance to see elephants roaming freely and even spot a leopard resting in the distance — something I’ll never forget. What truly elevated the entire experience, though, was our incredible guide. He was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely passionate about his country. Whether he was explaining the history behind ancient temples, pointing out hidden wildlife we would have completely missed, or recommending the best local spots to eat, his insight made everything more meaningful. He struck the perfect balance between being professional and friendly, and by the end of the trip, he felt more like a friend than just a guide. Having someone so dedicated and enthusiastic made the journey smooth, stress-free, and far richer than it would have been otherwise. Sri Lanka exceeded my expectations in every way. Can we customize this one a bit? We want to also see Ashok vatika temple, ravan Ella waterfall and extend one night in yalla park. We are Hindus so would like to cover some Hindu sites.

We are looking to travel to Sri Lanka in late January 2026 and would like to include one day of cricket in Kandy to watch England & Sri Lanka. Further, is this a tour that is available with 4 star accommodation?

Visa
- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before June 9th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after June 9th, 2026, a minimum payment of $50 is required to confirm your booking with Capital Lanka Tours. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 25 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Capital Lanka Tours will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Capital Lanka Tours" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
