  A mixture of highs and disappointments. Amritsar was amazing, with a wonderful guide. The Wagah border ceremony was another highlight. Shimla was disappointing: the promised "guided town tour" did not occur and we were left to find our own ways. The option of a guide for McLeod Ganj would have been worthwhile. Some of the hotels were very distant, and remote, with no local activities. Example: the Dharamshala hotel was 9kms out of town although scenically surrounded by rice fields. The Fairmount hotel is some distance out of Shimla and our room was on level 7, reached by a lift then 3 levels of external staircase. Not great in the rain. Unfortunately the driver had limited English and clearly had not driven this tour before. He frequently had to stop to seek directions and had difficulties with some of the gradients. His car was rather older and underpowered for the routes driven. Engine stalls were common. Also please be aware that this part of India is subject to a massive road improvement program resulting in frequent diversions to rough diversions offering extensive "Indian road massages" and extended travel times. If you consider this tour (and there are some amazing inclusions) do investigate a vehicle upgrade and seeking more conveniently located accommodation.Show more

  We enjoyed every bit of the tour including the winding roads up and down the mountains. The views were spectacular and the people were friendly. Anu was very good at organising the tour and super responsive to my queries. The drive Guddu was difficult to communicate in English which is understandable and we got by. Our Highlights was the monastery, temples and our no 1 was the Golden Temple in Amritsar not to be missed. We upgraded to 5 Star hotels which was excellent in location, comfort and cleanliness. The trips between cities were a bit long and tiring, fortunately we upgraded our transport to a Toyota Innova Crysta at a high cost and it was worth it. Highly recommend 😁😁👍Show more

  This was a most enjoyable experience at all levels, the company was excellent, food and hotels of a very high standard and the sights and history we encompassed well beyond my expectations. A special mention of our tour leader Bagghi who was unfailing in his attention and took almost as much pleasure as we did in the sights and sounds of this magical country.   I would give this tour 6 stars out of 5 if I could! This is the second time I have chose this company (last time was our 1st Anniversary - this was the 10th) and we could not thank them enough. We could not fault the service and attention to detail in any way. Absolutely perfect. We were told to mention any staff who made a good impression on us, but really we could have mentioned every one of them. Looking forward to our next trip already.Show more
